Kimo's world's #179~Blog #1922

Why let politics destroy Friendships?

Last week I blogged about some of my doubts with President Trump and how I had drank the Trump Kool Aid and that my bromace (sic) was over.
http://dakinetalk.blogspot.com/2017/04/i-drank-trumps-kool-aid-james-kimo.html

I have always had friends from both major political parties. I have always respected every President once elected into office whether I voted for them or not. I am an Independent and have voted both ways. I guess that makes me bi?

This created a frenzy with quite a few of my ex "friends" whom had unfriended me physically and on social media since I was a Trump supporter.  Now there are some whom want to
"kiss" and make up and be friends again?

I have not replied to them yet, however if they are reading my blog-- I am excited and hope they are as excited for my answer as I was to hear from them?

You guys who called yourselves my friends, whom unfriended me because I had a difference of opinion than you-- without you ever even questioning me. Why?

This would be like me saying, I can't be your friend because you are an atheist or agnostic because I am a believer in God and you must think like me. Friends that attack you for your political or religious beliefs were never your friends in the first place. It's a free country. (The beauty of America)

A more profound example, I love watching NFL football and if you despise watching football we can't be friends.

Your true colors shone, and by your example showed you must have never been my friend in the first place? That's the greatness of living in The United States, our democracy gives us the right to choose.

I know Trump isn't perfect. I still like some of the things he stands for. I was vetting in my last weeks  blog, letting off steam. I don't need to be told, I told you so, as many seemed to rub it in.

Libs, Be happy I wrote what I did, however fact be told I still like the "The Donald".  Please no more, I told you so comments. I am well read politically and watch a lot of political TV both conservative and liberal-- and in case you were not aware I also publish a blog. I guess your aware if your reading this ;-)

I have always prided myself in having  fiends  from multiple  ethnicity's  and religions. After-all that's what America is, "The melting pot."

To those whom unfriended me for no other reason than a  difference  of a  Presidential  choice, I would like to quote Kevin O'Leary form The ABC TV show "Shark Tank, "You are dead to me!"  (Unless of course you buy me lunch at Costco!)
http://dakinetalk.blogspot.com/2017/03/im-costco-junkie-james-kimo-rosen-kimos.html

To those friends whom remained friends during our differences, you are true fiends. I am proud to call you friend! Hope you feel likewise?

To quote my father,"you are lucky to go through life and be able to count your true friends on one hand."

Hana Hou, Encore!

Beautiful quote at the end, so so true!

That quote was from the greatest man I have ever known. My dad! ;-)

Yes, We can have differences of opinions and still be friends. ;-) It would be a boring world if everyone though alike and all liked the same things.

I remember him fondly, he was a great man!

Glenn Mickens said by email; Just keep on blogging, Kimo keep on blogging!!! Take a good look at the Kool-aid before you drink it again! I haven't the slightest idea how you put it all together (pictures and all) but just know that you do a great job and I for one really appreciate what you do.
I love Shark Tank but my favorite is Mark Cuban---he owns the Dallas Mavericks. This program is also my wifes favorite.
Your pal,
Glenn

Trump forgets there is a "chain of command" and oversteps quite frequently. I think someone needs to set down with him and explain even the royals of Europe can not declare military strikes without their parliament agreeing. He may think he is doing the right thing, and he may be, but that pesky chain of command must be followed or we will find ourselves in a confrontation, not of our desires. This Syria thing is something usually handled by the UN and that level of jurisprudence. I never defriended you or Obama (Michelle is a beautiful black woman) only tried to remind you of the fact Trump is not a political person, has no idea what is expected, has surrounded himself with people whose agendas are all for personal gain not the countries, and he has not awakened to this fact yet. Would I have rather seen Hillary in office? No but she has been in politics forever and has the ability to slide things through with finesse not Trump's bull in a china shop advance. Other countries could and would take offense and use that as an excuse to start the blame game. I was never after you personally, just wanted you to see Trump wasn't trained enough for this place in politics.

Kit, Trump's action as I heard was a Humanitarian action which does not need approval on Congress or the UN. Ground troops and a full fledged war is another story. I know you were always my friend even though we have differences. I appreciate that and so does Ivanka Obama Da Dog!

I understand where you are coming from but I am also seeing foreign powers seeing this as an act of aggression, especially Russia even though all of Trumps wives were Russian. Some dignitaries see it as more of Trump saying he is taking over and leaving other countries to fend for themselves. I am a member of a worldwide prayer Wheel and hear these feelings along with prayer requests. I can't help but stand back and pray for peace.

You don't see Russia invading Ukraine as an act of aggression? You don't see Islamic terrorist cutting off peoples heads as an act of aggression? How about Russian planes buzzing our military plans and taking captive the crew of our boats? North Korea's launching ballistic missiles? Suicide bombing and truck running over innocent people. And the continuation of using gas to kill people. War is not a pleasant thing and many innocent people get killed. Just like in past wars. Historically war has been going on for centuries. That is not going to change. So you have to fight for the freedom we have or petty soon we will not have freedom like many country don't. Countries look to American to help them because we are a free and strong country. But the last eight years we had our tail between our legs and did nothing. We now see countries happy that we finally have a president with balls instead of the nothing president we had for 8 years.

Also Kit, Trumps wives are not from Russian, Ivana was Czech, Marla maples is American and Melanie was born in Yugoslavia.

With all the leaks in the house why would he go to them? It would have not been a surprise attack. You don't tell the enemy you're getting ready to launch an attack at them. You know that's what would have happened

Facts are, Hilary has been in politics too long. She is bought and paid for by big business and mega millionaire. This is not a person that the country wanted for good reason. Royals can't make any decisions about their country. It is prime minister that heads the government. You don't need to be a politician to see and fix what is wrong with our country. Having the name "politician" doesn't make you a qualified person to do the job.

Czechoslovakia, before the split, was under Russian rule as was Yugoslavia. Marla s

I'm glad our friendship was never threatened by politics. I want to understand people who think differently than me. That's probably because of my background in psychology. I see that you & me are kindred spirits in accepting differences.

Thanks Harmony! I find it mind boggling that people only want to hang out with people that look and think like themselves. Pretty boring world if we all liked the same things and the same people, music, movies, food, you get it! 😇
