Holidays, Chanukah and Christmas almost a month away

Here in Buffalo our merchants are in a never ending battle to throw out the bet bargains for the holiday shoppers. This year we have stores and malls open on Thanksgiving, and  not  just the day after. It has caused quite a controversy among shoppers and store owners and poses a great debate as to what the right thing to do is.

The Malls are requiring workers to work Thanksgiving night and enticing the shoppers that they will get the best deal if they come out at that time.

Shopping has become more competitive since on line sales are increasing each year. Is it the right and moral thing to do? What happened to the celebration of Thanksgiving with family and friends giving thanks for what we have and enjoying the sentiment of the holiday.  It seems to have turned into a shopping spree for many instead.

I for one do not need to buy anything that bad that I will join the crazies in this shopping frenzy.  Those bargains only drop in price the closer the holiday comes anyways.

People, get your priorities straight and chow down on those turkey dinners. Consider yourself lucky if you have family and friends to share THAT holiday, for you are missing the biggest gift of all.

P.S.
Everyone, it's Judith and Steve's  40 Anniversary.
Happy Anniversary!  Mazol Tov! (Enclosed is Judith's Facebook post)

Forty years ago this weekend we tied the knot, it was a freak snowstorm much like today will be. We were lucky back then, we had both sets of parents alive along with many more relatives and friends...40 years of ups and downs; celebrations and sadness have been part of our lives as we have grown older together. We still enjoy each others time together and still are grateful for the gifts we have received, most importantly our good health, and we look forward to celebrating many more special days.
