Me too has now surfaced beyond just sex scandals

Blog #2034~Kimo's world's #281

The Justice Department
Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman
recently charged 50 people — including two television stars, Lori Loughlin and  Felicity Huffman with being part of a long-running bribery scheme to get privileged children with lackluster grades into big-name colleges and universities.

The alleged crimes included cheating on entrance exams, as well as bribing college officials
to say certain students were coming to compete on athletic teams when those students were not in fact athletes. The parents went as far as photoshopping their children's heads on other athletes.

Does anyone think that Chelsea Clinton
got into Stanford and Malia Obama got into Harvard and even former President George W. Bush got into Yale strictly on their grades alone? Maybe, maybe not? I just know that it's not what you know, but rather how much money and rich people you know with connections that matter most of the time in our society.
Rich parents have been doing such things
for decades. (Spoiler alert, rich parents buy their kid's cars and supply them with credit cards.) What else is new? Me too has now surfaced beyond just sex scandals. The world is finding new scapegoats in activities that have been happening for decades.  Paying huge ransoms for admissions to elite colleges is nothing new.  Nobody is safe anymore.

It's always been a world of who you know and how much money you have.
The old expression goes, "It's not what you know, but who you know!"    The only thing that may be changing is social media and bringing out the worst rat in everyone. Watch out, for next time it may be the person in the mirror being Me too'ed, or ratted on and seeing yourself on the evening news.

The Young Black Conservatives of Trump’s America
In October of 2018, hundreds of young conservatives of color met up in Washington, DC, for the first ever Young Black Leadership Summit: a four-day conference that featured speeches from conservative actress Stacey Dash and firebrand Candace Owens, a trip to the White House to hear Trump speak, and a rare chance for young, black Republicans to get together and network...

Aloha Readers,
When happens when Facebook crashes for almost a day? Wednesday, March 13, 2019, that happened worldwide to many Facebook and Instagram users. I hate to admit it, I was going through withdrawals, I was jonesing like a junkie not being able to get their fix.
I had a dream, I was at a Facebook anonymous meeting and they made me say, "My name is Kimo and I'm a Facebookaholic." They all said back in unison, "We love you Kimo!"
Anybody wish to join me at meetings?  ;-)

When Facebook goes down-Repeat after me, "I'm a Facebookaholic..."

Blog #2033~Kimo's world's #280

This past Wednesday Facebook was down and I too went down like a junkie jonesing for a fix.
http://fortune.com/2019/03/13/facebook-instagram-down-outage/
My routine for the last 5 years has been posting sunrise photos to share with friends around the world.

My routine was interrupted, not only could I not post my daily sunrise photos but could not look at the numerous political and crazy humorous posts and memes my friends had posted and then commented on.

I hate to admit it, but spend around 2 hours each morning on Facebook, catching up on what I believe is important stuff?  Without my important stuff and commenting I feel withdrawn, like a junkie.

What happens when Facebook crashes? My guess is 9 months from March 13, 2019, which will be December 19, 2019–will be a record for births all over the world, and just in time for Christmas.

I have decided it may be time to sign up for Facebook anonymous.
I went to my first meeting, I talked about my problem and the group yelled out in unison, “we love you Kimo!”
Then I woke up, the meeting was a dream and Facebook was fixed.
Thank you, Mr. Zuckerberg!

Aloha Readers,
The good news, cheaper inexpensive airfares are coming to Hawaii after years of a monopoly and
high airfares by Hawaiian airlines. Southwest is entering the competition. The Bad news, Hawaii's long-suffering infrastructures of broken roads and sewage will suffer worse with a new influx of more visitors in an already overstressed visitor industry. OK, where do we sign up?

  Southwest Airlines, the double-edged sword

Blog #2032~Kimo's world's #279

Southwest Airlines coming to Hawaii is like the second coming to many. Champagne corks were metaphorically bursting all over the  50th-state when Southwest announced their March 17th inaugural schedule of flights between San Francisco and Honolulu for as low as $49.00 one way on select flights.

The good news, cheap flights! The bad news, our already stressed tourism industry which brings on overstressed statewide infrastructures will be even more stressed.

The Garden Island is already
experiencing record tourism which effects everything from standstill traffic jams, long lines at the grocery stores and walk-in clinics. My latest pet peeve is the beautiful East side multi-use trail.  It is no longer my favorite spot to bike and walk my dog, instead, it's currently like a human highway littered with visitors from far and near. It's no longer the peaceful/ meditative experience it once was.
The Eastside bike trail back in 2008
before it was overrun with visitors.

The great news, cheap flights, the bad news, even more visitors
will saturate our islands further stressing our roads, sewage systems, and other crucial infrastructures which can barely accommodate the 70,000 plus residents currently residing here, with these inexpensive airfares.

I am delighted travel will finally be affordable. I am saddened and depressed that Hawaii will never be what it was, but then again that's the price we pay for "progress"?"

Therefore on the bright side, like the Mammas and Pappas song of the 60's say's, "So if you're going to San Francisco, make sure to wear some flowers in your hair!"

I guess you call it a double-edged sword.

Aloha Readers,

I had a huge surprise when my dog killed a cockroach and it emitted an odor so bad I nearly lost my kishkas.
I never knew how terrible cockroaches could smell until this past week. I always knew they could fly and are huge in Hawaii, however, the stink is new to me. Hope you enjoy my experience.

  That dirty 'stinkin' cockroach...

Blog #2031~Kimo's world's #278

You may believe I am speaking of Donald Trump, or you may believe I am speaking of Michael Cohen
when I utter the words, "dirty 'stinkin' cockroach." It all depends on which side of the political spectrum you side and support.

I am actually referring to neither, but rather the most disgusting smelliest and pathetic cockroach I ever had visit my hale. (home)

My dog, 'Ivanka Obama' is trained to kill cockroaches on demand. When she sees them, I give her the command, "get em boms," and she's on it.

This past week I was in my bedroom which doubles as my office working on my computer when I smelled something foul, like chicken that had been dead for weeks. My dog comes over to me and reeks like a sewage spill. She smelled so bad I almost lost my kishka's. She had smelled like this years ago when she rolled in dead chickens. She was inside all morning, there's no way she got out.

Low and behold there is a mutilated cockroach on the floor that 'Ivanka' had taken care of. I picked up a piece of the cockroach and smelled it and nearly passed out. The head actually looked like a microscopic rat. I never realized a cockroach could smell so incredibly bad.  Later that day I confirmed my findings with an expert witness.

I find it ironic, I've been terminating cockroaches for years. I have seen flying cockroaches as we have in Hawaii, giant cockroaches as we also have in Hawaii, the dirty 'stinkin' variety was a first for me.  I guess it depends what they eat, and what's in their stomach before you fly swat them, or step on them, or have your dog take care of them. This cockroach must have come up through the sewer drain hole of my toilet.

I'll bet you'll never guess what I named that cockroach? I came up with a name for that variety of cockroach, the dirty 'stinkin kine' that looks like a micro rat. I call them the Michael Cohens, however to be fair and make my Democratic friends happy, at least the Dems that still read my blog, you may call this variety of cockroach the Donald Trump, or Trumpster, take your pick--- however, no lie, I still prefer the 'MC'- Michael Cohen-Cockroach.
