Veterans day-Remembrance day
Special Thanks To All Vets
It is the VETERAN , not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN , not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN , not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN , not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN , not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN , not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN , who salutes the Flag, It is the VETERAN , who serves under the Flag, ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO THEM, O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.
Mahalos to Unc and to all our family and friends who have served our great country! |
My father told us a story of being in WW ll. The rabbi from his division was captured. His lieutenant said to leave him as he was 1 man and the lieutenant wasn't about to lose 6 to save 1. My dad went back alone, quietly captured each German soldier and rescued the rabbi. When the rabbi saw it was my father he asked dad why? After all I am a Jew. Dad said he looked him in the eye and said, so what? I'm an Indian! Now can we get our butts out of here? They took their prisoners back with them. 😊 Dad earned 6 more eagle feathers that day and a months KP but he said it was worth it. No matter what you call Him, God, Great Spirit, Greater Being, it all boils down to God and my father knew it. Rabbi Rosenblat agreed as he was the one dad saved.
