Kimo's world #60
Disney hits century mark in admission cost
This meme was used to promote this blog on social media this past week... |
Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955 Making it 60 years old this coming July. Disney World hits century mark plus in admission cost...
Visiting "The Happiest Place On Earth" or as many call it 'America's Park' will have you digging deep into your pocketbooks.
Single-day tickets for the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, are now $105. Thirty years ago in 1985 tickets were $14.00. I thought that was high back then.
People are upset over this. Imagine 3 kids, mom and dad---5 people---that's $500.00 just in admission cost. This does not include the overpriced food vendors that makes one think they are on the Garden Island of Kaua'i.
Many families are saying they will no longer go to Disneyland or Disney world. America's park, or an American ripoff?
Facebook quotes;
" With $5 cokes, $5 corn dogs, $5 ice cream sandwiches. "Basically $5 for everything once you enter the park. Wanna bring your own snacks after paying $105 per head...no way...you are searched for 'security reasons."
"$105.00 entry, Looks like Mickey Mouse has morphed into Porky Pig.
And an obscenely greedy mouse by any other name still looks like a pig!
How much profit will be enough? I guess Disney is turning in to an exclusive upper class club for the affluent. The Magic of Disney has been ruined by greedy shareholders. It's just getting too expensive to wish upon a star nowadays and Walt has to be turning in his grave. This really is heart-breaking. What are you guys thinking?!
"Finally, I wonder what Mr. Disney would think. 30 years ago, a one-day ticket for the main Disneyland park -- prior to California Adventure opening -- was $14."
All this fanfare of admission increase after a measles outbreak was linked to Disneyland
Since 1987, the phrase," "I'm going to Disneyland!" and ""I'm going to Disney World!"have been used as part of Disney's "What's Next?" campaign following the NFL Superbowl every year. Quarterback Phil Simms kicked off the tradition after the New York Giants defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXI.
Ironically the only ones able to afford Disneyland and Disney World are overpaid athletes, go figure.
P.S. !!!!! A Must Watch!
Check out this YouTube form a TV show called "Vice" on HBO. It shows a successful cure for cancer. Injecting the measles virus into a brain tumor the size of a golf ball actually totally dissolved the tumor. This is the biggest breakthrough for cancer in years! It should be on the market in 2016!
