"A Chinese woman goes to the Psychic..." 'Ivanka Da Dog' (Source of comedy relief)

Ivanka Da Dog is a life long resident of Hawaii.
Ivanka can be seen cruising Kapa'a town
with her best friend James "Kimo" Rosen!
Hope you smile or laugh after reading this!

A Chinese woman goes to the Psychic

A Chinese woman went to the local psychic in hopes of contacting her dearly departed grandmother.

The psychic's eyelids begin fluttering, her voice begins warbling, her hands float up above the table, and she begins moaning.
Eventually, a coherent voice emanates, saying, "Granddaughter? Are you there?"

The customer, wide-eyed and on the edge of her seat, responds, "Grandma? Is that you?"

"Yes granddaughter, it's me."
"It's really, really you, Grandma?", the woman repeats.
"Yes, it's really me, granddaughter."

The woman looks puzzled, "You're sure it's you, Grandma?"
"Yes, granddaughter, I'm sure it's me."

The woman pauses a moment, "Grandma, I have just one question for you."

"Anything, my child."
"When did you learn to speak English?"

Dairy and Seed companies may be a perfect marriage..?" 'James "Kimo" Rosen' (Kimo's world)

Kimo's world's #173~Blog #1904
This blog also appeared as an opinion article in the 02-22-17 edition
of the Kaua'i Garden Island news;

Editors note,
Hawaii Dairy Farms, a proposed 699-cow operation on the island of Kauai being funded by eBay billionaire founder Pierre Omidyar’s Honolulu investment firm Ulupono Initiative, could be operational by 2018.

The project’s draft environmental impact statement, which was recently released, said the total development costs of the South Shore dairy farm could total $9.5 million to $11.5 million. Construction could start in 2017.

Then just last Tuesday on February 21, 2017, Hawaii Dairy Farms took a step back in its plan to put a dairy on Kauai by withdrawing its Final Environmental Impact Statement from state consideration on Tuesday.http://thegardenisland.com/news/local/hawaii-dairy-farms-withdraws-feis-from-state-consideration/article_098638dc-f8ac-11e6-9289-cb0bb27672e4.html

Kauai diary has been one the biggest controversies on Kauai the past few years. Many are up in arms because the location and  is only a few miles from the major tourism resorts and fear of the smell is alarming residents.

Dairy and Seed companies may be a perfect marriage?

This is not fake news, I fact checked and fact checked again on all major search engines.

The Garden Island published  on February 21 an article titled, "Sanctuary holds 7 cows saved from slaughter to promote peace."  This got me thinking on how the controversial dairy could combine energies with our local seed companies and make a negative a great positive!

If you did not read the article the article goes on to say that,"Cows eat grass and the cow dung is very good for the earth. It protects  the top soil, and the manure can be used to feed the corn and other plants.

The manure has  antibacterial properties. In India it's mixed with water and used as a floor cleanser and the cow urine is a natural way to repel insects from plants.

Well?   Does anyone else see a perfect marriage? Seed companies and  the dairy unite to a positive for the Garden island?

The cow dung can fertilize the corn and other plants and the urine could be collected and used  to keep insects off the plants in lieu of the chemical fertilizers? Plus a new industry of a floor cleanser could be invented from collection of the cow dung thus creating a way to eliminate the smell that everyone is so worried about?

The dairy could then hire people to collect the dung and has another department that makes the dung into floor cleansers. If the dairy uses my idea I would like to be compensated for saving their ʻōkoles! It's time to be creative and start thinking outside the box instead of saying NO to every new idea and project that comes way to Kauai.

Mahalo Councilman Kawakami for standing for a sustainable and an  independent Garden Island. How do the other council members stand on this issue? Inquiring minds would like to know?

Maybe just maybe this dairy project can work for the good of all.

There, I made it thorough an opinion letter with speaking of Donald Trump! ;-)

" Watching the world go by from my front porch..." 'Judith Whitehead' (Inspiration Friday)

Judith Whitehead lives in Amherst New York
( A suburb of Buffalo, N.Y.)
and has worked in the ophthalmology
field of medicine for nearly 40 years

Watching the world go by from my front porch

Several years ago we had the opportunity to build our own home; having owned two homes prior, we knew exactly what we did, and did not like about them.
Judy enjoying the world  by her
front front porch. In Hawaii
we say "Lanai."
The one thing we promised ourselves if
possible was to add a large front porch across the front of our home. It turned out to be the best thing
we have loved about our home.

Somehow sitting on a front covered porch is the best way to relax and watch the world go by. It's also a great way to meet the neighbors and people walking the neighborhood especially if you are the newbies on the block.

No matter what the whether is, rainy, chilly etc, as long as it isn't too cold, it's a perfect way to unwind after a long day at work. It also seems to be a way to beckon the strolling people over for a chat.

I find that each change of season gives me an excuse to find my creative self, and decorate with the most whimsical decorations that adorn the railings, stairs and tables. In the Fall, I can't wait until the little trick or treaters come to see the Halloween trappings and reach for their candy treat in my “singing box of spells” that holds the candy. Even if it's a cold night, I use battery lights that won't blow out on the sketchy nights for my lanterns. Hanging corn stalks provide color on the posts – that is until the squirrels find their way in and make a midnight snack of them.

As winter approaches, a new set of colorful lights are strung along the borders and decorations such as an old wooden sled and bows that align with the porch to bring out the spirit of the season.

Somehow, a cup of Joe tastes 100% better when sipped outside on the porch, especially if a little Baileys tops it off. On a clear night we sit and watch the sun set and feel at peace.

Most of our neighbors have built a back yard patio and never seem to sit out there for very long. They dash out to cook something on the grill and return in doors soon after wards.

We have a small setup out the back door but never seem to use it either. I guess we are just too curious to watch the world go by right in front of our faces.

TRUMP,The most charismatic man in the world

Trump is great for comedians, columnists and bloggers. There is so much material to choose from.

Some say this is photo shopped?
Fake news? CNN says it's real! ;-)
I like to write  articles that are  connected to "The Donald" because they always receive the most views. Comedians love to use use Trump in their opening monologues because people cannot get enough of him. Opinion writers, columnists, newscasts and bloggers keep Trump in the forefront because whenever we go off subject thinking we will write about Food trucks or  the Homeless situation it just doesn't get the traffic that covering Trump brings in.

What is it about Trump that people can't get enough of? His haters love to hate on him and love getting all the hate news possible. His supporters love to love on him and just can't get enough "TRUMP!"

In fact, Trump can't get enough Trump!  Recently when late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel interviewed Melania Trump and asked her if she missed Donald since she has stayed behind to care for their son Baron in New York, her reply was, 'No."Because she keeps a beautiful 8x10 portrait of her husband on her nightstand.  They asked The President the same question, if he missed his wife, he said of course not--I also keep a beautiful 8x10 portrait of myself on my nightstand.(LOL)

Good, bad, or indifferent there has never been a more charismatic man in the world than Donald J.Trump.

There is an old expression my father used to speak of people like Trump. "People are attracted to him like flies are attracted to feces." Although my dad used a different word.

The truth may hurt, but there you have it!   The reason Donald J. Trump is the most popular man in the world!

Would you buy a used bicycle

" AJA Baseball league continues discriminatory practice..." 'Glenn Mickens' (Kauai County Watchdog)

Glenn Mickens has lived on Kauai  with his wife Ruth for the last 26 years. Born July 26, 1930 in Wilmar, California, USA) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball. He pitched in four games (two of which were starts) for the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers. He also played for five years in Japan, from 1959 until 1963 for the Kintetsu Buffaloes. There, he compiled a record of 45–53 with a 2.54 ERA.  Glenn also  served in the Army for 2 years and coached baseball at UCLA for 25 years.
Last but not least Glenn would really like to see Kaua'i give the county manager style of Government a chance.

AJA Baseball league continues discriminatory practice

Mr. Mickens is locally known
as one of Kauai county's
political watchdogs
and Nitpickers...
Mahalos Glenn!

I have pursued this discriminatory practice of AJA (Americans of Japanese Ancestry) Baseball here on Kauai for 20 years with no positive results.

For me, NO person who is capable of playing baseball should be prohibited from playing, particularly using race as an excuse for the exclusion.

I do commend AJA for keeping baseball going on Kauai since there are no other organized leagues here but why not open it to anyone with the talent---like the big leagues who are stronger today than they ever were by allowing African-Americans to play and any other nationality that can compete at that level.

As you know I was honored and privileged to have played with Jackie Robinson and once he broke the color line baseball became a far more competitive sport.
I can only see AJA baseball becoming the same and, for me, it is wrong to see the doors not swing open to everyone who has the talent to play.

P.S.
AJA discriminates but that isn't against law

Editors note,
I was sent this written letter by  Rosemary LaBonte from Chester "Unc" Lau a frequent contributor to this blog.. Many newspapers across the country refused to publish this. This is the beauty of America, as a blogger I choose to publish this and hope you see the differences in immigration from years past to the present.
James "Kimo" Rosen,
Publisher/Blogger-n-chief-dakinetalk blog

 Dateline-ORANGE COUNTY FLORIDA
For some reason, people have difficulty structuring their arguments when arguing against supporting the currently proposed immigration revisions. This lady made the argument pretty simple. NOT printed in the Orange County Paper .....
Newspapers simply won't publish letters to the editor which they either deem politically incorrect (read below) or which do not agree with the philosophy they're pushing on the public. This woman wrote a great letter to the editor that should have been published; but, with your help, it will get published via cyberspace!

From: "David LaBonte"  My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor of the OC Register which, of course, was not printed. So, I decided to "print" it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Pass it along if you feel so inclined. Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register:

Immigration, then and now

Dear Editor:
So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get
down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved good-bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought alongside men whose parents had come straight over from Germany , Italy , France and Japan . None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan . They were defending the United States of America as one people.

When we liberated France , no one in those villages were looking for the French-American or the German-American or the Irish-American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet. (signed)
Rosemary LaBonte

KEEP THIS LETTER MOVING. FOR THE WRONG THINGS TO PREVAIL THE RIGHTFUL MAJORITY REMAIN COMPLACENT AND QUIET!! LET THIS NEVER HAPPEN!
I sincerely hope this letter gets read by millions of people all across the nation.
L'oncle Ammusant  AKA~ Chester "Unc" Lau
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." -- Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Kimo's world's #171~Blog #1899

Immigrant ban and the real definition of civil war

Civil according to my online dictionary and thesaurus means courteous and polite.

Therefore when speaking of a civil war how can a war be  courteous and polite?  That seems to be  contradictory  of war?

Last week I blogged about how our nation is involved in it's second civil war. Maybe a Civil war really isn't such a bad thing after all?
http://dakinetalk.blogspot.com/2017/02/americas-second-civil-war-has-begun.html

If everyone were to become courteous and polite,  this second Civil war may be just what our country needs!

Now back to President Trump and the immigration ban.
To this day, Israeli Jews are forbidden from entering 16 Muslim countries. Six of the seven states on Trump’s “ban” currently bar Israeli Jews.

Hey Hollywood and left wing friends, we’re still waiting on protests condemning the institutionalized and permanent Jewish ban across the Islamic world.

Here's a list of all the Muslim countries that ban Israeli Jews:
http://www.dailywire.com/news/13066/heres-list-all-muslim-countries-ban-jews-michael-qazvini
Syria
Iran
Iraq
Yemen
Libya
Algeria
Bangladesh
Brunei
Kuwait
Lebanon
Malaysia
Oman
Pakistan
Sudan
Saudi Arabia
United Arab Emirates

So,  they want to go other places as they please but in their countries I'm not allowed to enter and in reality I don't even have a right to exist as a Jewish man.

These countries need to fix  their problems at home so that visitors are allowed to enter and won't be afraid of being  beheaded, then they may can come and visit us.

It is said that 15-25% of Muslims in Muslim countries are said to be radicalized and did you know that Palestinian children are taught how to stab a Jew?
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/stab-jew-taught-palestinian-children-article-1.2401446
"When a Palestinian child returns from school and opens (sic) the TV, he doesn't see Barney or Donald Duck, he sees murderers portrayed as heroes. When he opens a textbook, he doesn't learn about math and science, he's being taught to hate, the children are being taught to kill Jews.

President Trump has reason to be concerned for the safety of Americans. President Trump may not have the best bedside manner, however rest assured  he cares and loves America deeply.

Unless our country starts taking the offense we are doomed.

We say in Hebrew, Todah Robah! We say in Hawaiian, Mahalo Nui Loa! Thank you very much President Trump and may God bless you and our great nation!
