It seems lately in Buffalo all the news channels are cutting loose our senior announcers, weather men etc.
They are all in their 60's and are being forced to "retire" and are being replaced by much younger people. Of course the young ones will work for much less but it is unconscionable to put our senior workers out to pasture; all dedicated workers for the last 30 yrs.
TV news anchors are being replaced as well as the sports and weather announcers. Not fun getting old... |
They are very short sited...who do they think the general public of 5 o'clock news watchers are? Not the people in their 20's and 30's but the senior age people who enjoy the old standards. If they think this will entice a new crowd of news watchers, they are mistaken.
Young people do not sit down to dinner at 5pm and watch the news. They are far too busy working late and going to activities with their friends.
Now they will alienate the senior watchers and I will be curious to see if the ratings fall. Very short sited in my opinion.
P.S.
