A Hui Hou, Aloha Kakou and Malama pono to a great newspaper man...‏ James "Kimo" Rosen

Nathan Eagle editor-in-chief of  the Kauai Garden Island news is moving on. We wish Nathan the best in all future endeavors, he will be sorely missed on the Garden Island.

Bittersweet is what comes to mind upon learning of the departure of TGI editor- in- chief, Nathan Eagle.

Nathan brought a sense of community and a true professionalism to our cosmic hamlet which will be hard to replace and he will be sorely missed. Bitter in the essence that we will be loosing a legendary reporter and  because some other community gets to benefit from all the wisdom comprehension and knowledge Nathan acquired during his tenure with the Garden Island News.
Sweet in the essence that Nathan is a young man and still has his whole life to shine, and some community somewhere on this planet will inherit a well educated and learned newsman.  Also sweet for Nathan he will not have to rummage through my numerous letter submissions anymore, unless of course I email him at his new job?
Mr. Eagle,  A Hui Hou, Aloha kakou and Malama Pono.(Until we meet again,Peace and Love to all and take care...)

You'll have to keep me posted on future contacts and if he/she is amenable to contributions from mainland "outsiders" (if you don't count hearts and souls)."

Doug, Renee Haines is new managing editor, I am excited, seems she has quite the background! Check out the story above...

via Kauai Garden Island News, comments page, 12-25-11;"Welcome to Kauai Renee. All the best in your new position with TGI.

Truthislaw, an advertisement ran for several weeks for an editor for TGI, and in TGI. I think Kimo would be excellent. I understand he is not interested in taking on such a venture. Were there any commununity members who applied for editor? Maybe not.

I am glad Renee has some experience living in a nation not far from communist regimes. She will understand quickly how sadly Kauai courts and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney operate...and, Renee likely will know somewhat intimately the devastating impact such corruption can bring to innocent people.

Add County Admin. to the list.

Renee, please help Court and Crime reporters to gain a better understanding of Hawaii lower courts, beginning with the fact that probation officers work for The State of Hawai'i, not the County of Kauai. When a probationer is on conditional release, he is in SOH custody. A PO's duty is to SUPERVISE.

Ethics or sponsorship?
