Burger King now offers a bacon sundae... Photo courtesy of Burger King marketing |
"Be Kind," should be the new signature motto for Burger King, Kapa'a. "BK," now stands for Burger King and "Be Kind!"
Next time your on the road and have the need to eat, or even another need, remember (BK) "Be kind," that's exactly what my friends at Kapa'a Burger King are, kind! Did you know they use local home grown tomatoes on their sandwiches, and that the french fries have zero trans-fats. They also have a variety of Garden salads.
For all you exotic food lovers they now offer a complete line of ice cream sundaes, including a bacon, fudge and caramel sundae, now if only they would make a whopper milk shake we'd have it all.
This blog recently appeared as an opinion article in the 06-26-12 edition of the Kaua'i Garden Island news http://thegardenisland.com/news/opinion/mailbag/letters-for-tuesday-june/article_f5351104-bf68-11e1-926f-001a4bcf887a.html |
Afterthought does anyone besides me think that Burger is doing this for all the free PR they are receiving from blogs like this all over the world, after all a bacon sundae is not really a delight to the pallet or is it?
Ironically My friend Rabbi Barr also blogged about this in a short 2 minute sermon, please listen- http://bethadam.org/ it-aint-kosher/
Rabbi Barr is not a food critic but he is one in this podcast.

BTW, this is tongue & cheek....
"All Businesses should be kind to All people,I propose that Berger King deluges you with a free supply of Kosher Tofu burgers year round with kimchee sauce :-)"
Unc, I actually go there almost everyday for a senior hot tea and glass of water. It's just very relaxing there... I actually write and get many of my blog idea's at Burger king
"Good idea, simple hot tea & glass of water good for your health, maybe you can ask BK to serve more healthier foods like Potato/Tofu/Tomato/Maui onion,Mayonnaise burger with Manischewitz wine, all kosher ,me like..."
sometimes I eat half of an Element energy bar with my tea and water...
" You are going to live Forevah :-)
"Do other Burger Kings serve those good foods or just the Kapa'a one?"
Everythings the same, it's a national franchise, but the firendly service and staff has been there forever, usually fast food is high turn-over in employee's. plus this place uses Kauai grown tomatoes, whichof course a BK in texas wouldn't... btw, the ending was tongue and cheek about the only thing missing is a whopper milkshake.
" Are these Burgers kosher ? are you allow to eat un kosher foods ?"
I do not adhere to a strictly kosher diet, I try to avoid pork, that's about it.. However I always have Obama da dog bless our food... :D)
"You & me da same,I like kosher food for health reason, but ox tail soup & ginger/onion lobster sounds good from time to time,if you are in Honolulu with Bettejo,my treat :-)"
you neve know Unc, maybe we surprise you!
"While waiting for you & Bettejo,I pride myself into heating up a can of Matzo balls in chicken broth,it tasted good, only the cholesterol is high,i think I can kill that with Manischewitz wine."
and I pride myself in eating microwaved leftovers from Panda Express, my Kung Pao chicken and beef broccoli await me...
"Panda Express is not bad for fast food, for Kauai,it's da Royal Hawaiian in Chinese food,I wish we have Panda Express in Kauai while we did numerous films in Kauai in the '60s,but they did have good Japanese food even in Kapaa at the time:-"
Unc, still not many good restaurants on Kaua'i...there's an influx of food trucks that charge ridiculously high prices for food, 2 taco, rice and beans $12.50, not even restrooms are places to wash hands?
