"Time for a "Chow" Break..." 'James "Kimo" Rosen'

Rainbows are a common delightful site in Hawai'i, while the UH Rainbow Warriors
aren't quite as delightful...

Editors note, UH lost another one today (11-23-13) to Wyoming,
56-59. This team just cannot win, no matter how many points they score. It really is time for
the coach to step down or be fired.

Rainbow Warrior Football and Time for a "Chow" Break

Hawai'i doesn't  have a professional football team, therefore  the state makes use of it's college team for the  enjoyment of watching football.

Tickets are expensive and if you want to watch on TV, Time Warner cable charges an overwhelming amount of
$75.00 to watch  home games .

A coach is the key ingredient for a winning team. When you examine the NFL teams with  great coaches, they  win most their games, just as business'es with great managers and CEO's make money.

The Rainbow Warrior football team at the time of this writing are 0-11.
Coach Norm Chow is a gentleman and  nice guy, however  as the expression goes, 'Nice guys finish last." It's time to be fed a winning formula and for  Chow to step down.

The players have been fed their  "Chow,"however the chow they have been fed is not working.

The university of Hawaii needs to fire head football coach Norm Chow, he may be a nice guy, but so far has lost all seven games thus far this season. The players need some better chow for a winning formula!

I would say moving up into a big boys conference will guarantee the school many years of disappointments, but the higher $$$ they receive the school will use to pay to the next deceptive administrator.

KimoRosen said...

Good point Rick!

KimoRosen said...

However if they keep loosing, nobody's going to want to go to the games or buy pay per view, and advertising rates go down if there are less viewers. Chow is to a nice of guy to be a coach, last night on the news he almost broke down and cried, I know it's in for guys to cry, however, I am old school and believe in tough coaches like Parcels. Norm Chow is too much a nice guy for a head coaching position. I think he'd be a great assistance coach as he was previously under a well polished figure head.

Smashmouth Football......Jimbo, I agree with the fan base not showing up, advertising dollars vaporizing and nice guys finish last.......this is what happens even in Hawaii government....to many people tring to be friends with each other.

KimoRosen said...

Yes, business needs to be business...

Rick Comstock said...

And I always believe keeping facts, facts.....truth and reality is often mistaken for not having aloha.....Chow needs someone above him just to have an honest attempt at winning, no wins will make good football players redirect to other schools....the T'eo's will stay with the fighting irish and still call themselves from Hawaii also.

KimoRosen said...

Maybe Teo needs to bring UH an imaginary great coach! look at Bill Belichick, no matter how many players are injured are leave he still manages to win and pass that onto his players...

tru dat brudah.......maybe we can have a Halloween Blog of "imaginary friends"

KimoRosen said...

Let me first consult with my imaginary Facebook friends! ;D)

Rick Comstock said...

What did that one friend tell you?

KimoRosen said...

they told me to dakine with dakine... ;D)

KimoRosen said...

Fire Norm Chow, everyone;s afraid to say it because Chow is a nice guy, I said it! Fire him, or as Donald Trump would say "Your Fired"

Rick Comstock said...

I agree so I heard from my wife to not be so negative so I turned on T'eo....Forbes call him the 2nd most dislike NFL player....his stats reflect his value to SD.

KimoRosen said...

I heard Teo is going to score an imaginary defensive touchdown, in his own mind! ;D)

KimoRosen said...

it's not us being negative, it's UH being negative in not scoring points. How can you not be negative when your hometown college team loses all it's game's. That's what;s wrong with America, as little kids everyone gets rewarded, even the worst players on the field.

Rick Comstock said...

I try to watch the SD game and found myself watching T'eo to see if he still looks like the runt of the litter following the play, watching the rest of the litter get dirty. ESPN has him rated pretty low, inside linebacker only, and remove to sidelines for passing plays. He was in for a feel goal and didn't move one foot or jump in the air or wave his arms....What a Putz!

KimoRosen said...

Rich, he was moving, you just didn't see it because it was all imaginary... ;D)

..UH has lost money in sports for the last 10 of 12 years. Reports have it that all sports my be cut next year or so.

KimoRosen said...

James Kimo Rosen Yea, SPEAKING OF HAIRCUTS, Happy Thanksgivekkah!

KimoRosen said...

speaking of UH sports, Norm chow, who last all 11 games for UH football is paid $550,000 a year , he is by far the highest paid state employee, and grossly overpaid especially for a loser. He makes more than 4 times the governors salary of $123,000 a year. Cut the UH footballs coach's salary to 100,000 a year, still a very respected and UH will not lose money, simple!

Rick Comstock said...

When the people stop being the bottomless money pit, and the administration quits doing the AGI trickle down things might change....But as they say, "we're not the mainland" just bad with

KimoRosen said...

Chow could make 200,00 a year and still be the states highest paid employee. Maybe we need Donald Trump to tell chow, "YOUR FIRED!"

Rick Comstock said...

"Jimbo, and I bet the board will request a cost of living for him to retain a great losing coach."

Is this about the imaginary football team?

KimoRosen said...

it's about University of Hawaii's terrible football team. The imaginary thing is an old media story about a local player with an imaginary girlfriend...

Jaana Makipaa said...

So the plot thickens... I thought the team, itself, was imaginary.

(I have never sat through a single football game -"home school" or professional.)

I agree with you Jim, problem is two fold, the Head Coach is not compensated enough, June Jones was coaxed away to SMU, additionally it is difficult to recruit players for UH ,they know they have a better chance of making it into the pro's by playing for a team that has a winning reputation.

KimoRosen said...

WHAT? UH head coach Norm Chow is the highest paid state employee, making $550,000 a year as the team loses money. Whereas the Governor, Neil Abercrombie makes $117,000 a year. A losing coach make 5 times more than the Governor as attendance continues to decline due to a losing team. Fire Chow!

Compared to other college coaches, hat is chump change, June jones started out @ over 1 million,

KimoRosen said...

Chump change, he's making 5 times more than the Governor, and he's a lousy coach, a good coach deserves to be paid big bucks, but Chow? I would not call 550 G's chump change. no other state employee's salary comes close to that. remember too some Universities are private, this is a state college... CHUMP CHANGE? Wish I made CHUMP CHANGE! Some professional football player make millions while others make 300,000 a year, it's all how well you play or coach.

Also when you compare what the Governor makes, you are forgetting extra perks, lifetime pension, free health care, etc.,that go along with it.. If a coach has a winning team it, brings in.ticket sales,, food, beer, team clothing sales, etc. The last 2 coaches just don't win games, the recruiting is the main cause, you can't win if you don't have stellar players.

KimoRosen said...

So true, right on... and the stellar players do not want to play in Hawaii because of the lousy coaching...

Christina Sanchez said...

They don't play here because they want to play pro ball , Hawaii just doesn't have the reputation of putting out pro players, look @ Colt, he did fabulous no losses under Jones, where is he now??

Hawaii puts out Arena bowl football caliber players, that's about it, with a few exceptions every blue moon...

When talking football how in the heck does the governors pension become part of the blog. Sounds more like a Bugs Bunny cartoon .... "Ya But" so lets bring up our favorite. We need a better chance to throw money at a SuperFerry than stuffing Chows pockets. And a special note about poor Teo.... out of 3 season he is once again out the rest of this season with that college ankle injury. He has only been available to play 1 of 3 years. Now I thinking Teo is imaginary.

Half million salary for coaching?? How do I apply for the job? (Someone quickly tell me how to play football!)
