Kimo's world #88
The Trump factor

Why is Donald Trump doing so well in poll after poll?

It's because the media is enamoured with his every move and broadcast his daily goings on.  It seems like the media is addicted to Trump.

Which makes it so ironic when the media constantly asks, "why  is he doing so well?"

Because publicity is publicity, good, bad or ugly, Trump's name is now a house-hold recognizable
 word.

Many are smitten with, captivated by, enchanted by, fascinated by, bewitched by, beguiled by Donald Trump. Does this mean people like Trump?

Many  Americans including myself are sick of politicians. Trump is a business man, not a politician. Both major political parties are controlled by rich lobbyists. Donald Trump does not have to answer to anybody since he is not begging for campaign donations. He is controlled only by himself. He is financing his own campaign and refusing donations as of this writing.  whereas all other politicians are controlled by their richest big business lobbyists that contribute millions to their election.

Trump wears his heart on his sleeve. He  says what comes to mind, no filtering just a stream of  consciousness

Whether you agree or disagree--American's love reality TV, and this election has turned into the Donald Trump Show.

Survivor and the Gardashians  move over, 'The Donald' may just be hired!

You hit the nail right on the head, Kimo! Your assessment of how and why the Trump factor is being perpetuated because of the way the media is enamored with the way he can generate publicity (from their point of view which brings more profit and attention to them, the media), this situation will continue "as is", until it's time for the "next show in town." In the mean time, it will be interesting to see how this plays out with respect to "outcomes" as to who will be the nominee representing the Republican party.

I think we must be the laughing stock of the world. Now Sarah Palin wishes to run as Minister of Energy. It is to vomit. I would be embarrassed to admit I was a Republican.

I think people have given up on polticians, and would rather have an entertainer... Every politician I know has sold out to special intersts at one time or another, republican or democrat, it's hard to trust either... It looks like the joke may turn on us!?

Good article, Kimo enjoyed it very much. One other factor you might have added about Donald is that people love a celebrity and have a tendency to listen to what they say no matter how stupid it is. Ronald Reagan and Arnold Swertsnegger come to mind. Not sure how far this Donald the quack will go but the Rs have the tiger by the tail and cannot let him go---too much support.
I heard Colin Powell being interviewed on Meet the Press and the Rs would have been wise to run him but he is too centrist for them and not far enough to the right. I have been a Dem all my life but like what he has to say.
Keep up the good writing,
Glenn

Mahalos Glenn,

I believe the general public is tired of all the lies and deceit over the years from both major political parties. I am and Independent but tend toward democratics more often than republicans.

I do not want to see the drama and accusations should Hillary become president and I do not want to hear about Jeb's brother should jeb become president,
Trump is a business man, and they say you are smart in business when you hire people than are smarter than you at what they do. Although trump is not a genius I believe he would surround himself with the best genuiuse advisors.

I will repeat myself, you have an open invitation should you ever want to guest-blog on dakinetalk blog.
Aloha,
Kimo

Thanks you, Kimo--keep up the fine writing.
Trump may be a fine businessman and have people around him who he leans on for advice. But with the International powder keg ready to ignite I cannot see that he would be the right one to judge what should be done.
And no matter who I would like to be president, I do know that I am voting for the best of the worst and have to chose witch of the favorites I want to win. I like Bernie and Joe but if it is Hillary against whoever the Rs pick then I would go with her.
Should be an interesting dog and pony show!!
