Buses a solution to traffic and much more
The Para transit bus approaches Costco parking lot
to pick me up from my weekly pilgrimage.
Ken Taylor's recent letter "Buses no solution to traffic woes." Really? But wait, listen!  (Ken Taylor's Letter listed below)
http://thegardenisland.com/news/opinion/mailbag/letters-for-sept/article_be628efa-305d-5408-a98f-b34f905767d7.html
Mr. Taylor left out many factors; the bus is not only a solution to traffic woes, but a solution to a stress free driving by having your own personal chauffeur and air conditioned bus. Not having to worry about costly annually county registration frees and state safety inspections.
Lucy, a para transit bus driver is
Obama da Dogs favorite
driver.

No vehicle insurance worries. Never having to worry when the police officer is following your car and thinking you did something wrong.  No tickets for illegal parking or running a stop signs. All those costly mechanical repairs.

The bus  to me is one of the best things about Kauai. Mr. Taylor says, It's the dream of every bus rider to own a car."  Really Ken?  I own a car.  My car sits in my driveway. I hate driving on Kauai. People tailgate me every time I drive and I get super stressed.  Nothing I enjoy more than a ride on the Kauai bus and somebody else driving for me.I can read TGI! I can even play on my cell phone, try doing that while driving?

Ken talks about having to walk an extra 30 minutes. Ken's a senior citizen like me. There's a para transit system that if you call a day in advance picks seniors up right at your home and takes you right to your destination, a real first class service. The service has gone through some changes but I must admit I am impressed and sorry for my recent criticisms.

The bus drivers are always friendly with aloha and a good morning/afternoon smile When  I take para transit or need an on call reservation the reservations clerks are always kind and put up with me and at times I may not be the easiest person to accommodate.
Riding the bus can save you
thousands of dollars a year!

Mahalo to all the switchboard people at the bus, I would list names but I do not want to leave anyone out.In the past I have been critical of the bus only because I want them to be perfect.  Right now I give them a 99.9% rating!

Mahalo Kauai Bus. ...And  may I suggest to my senior citizen friends and  Mr. Taylor, try taking the para transit, I think you will be impressed

Not a bad article, brah, but a very bad headline...Buses are helpful, yes, but they are NOT A SOLUTION to our traffic problems---past, present or future. When will you bus/bike/path folks finally get that??
