Why Diet Coke tastes orgasmic at Micky D’s!

I guess I got older and realized everyone dies. It doesn't matter if your vegan, vegetarian or carnivore, why not live life to the fullest?'Life Tastes Good,' 'Open Happiness,' 'Catch the Wave,' ' and Taste the Feeling are some of the tag lines of the product l  am going to talk about.

I now crave an afternoon pick me up, and it’s not coffee or green tea, it’s not bottled or canned soda—-It has to be Micky D’s— (McDonald’s) 'Diet Coke' fresh from their fountain! "Coke is it" probably the most famous tagline form 1982!

There’s the old stories of the original Coca Cola actually having pharmaceutical cocaine as one of the ingredients, that’s why so many people were said to be  addicted to the old  soda shops.

I know McDonald's doesn’t use cocaine, however after doing some do diligence research I found out I do not stand alone in my cravings for Micky D’s Diet Coke, even their regular Coke is said to posses the same qualities that make you feel euphoric, complete and ease heartburn along with basic healing powers.

Coke and Diet Coke in bottles and cans does not come close to the results and quality of McDonald's diet and regular coke.  Since I am dietetic I go for the Diet Coke.
No other restaurants taps are as good as McDonald's, no fair, ball park, or food truck tap will come close and the reasons are many.

1: McDonald's Uses Quality Water

First of all, McDonald's invests a fair amount of money—more than most (if not all) of the competition—to ensure that each of its restaurants has a high-end water filtration system. They use the best equipment money can buy and have routine maintenance programs in place to maintain the entire system.

2: Cold Water Holds More Carbonation

Second, insulated tubing is run from the back refrigeration unit all the way to the front and drive through units. The soda water is constantly recirculated though this frigid tubing system so that it can remain between 33-38 degrees at all times.
Keeping this water chilled is necessary to maintain superior C-O2 levels.

3: More Soda Sold Means a Fresher Product

Third, McDonald's sells a very high volume of soda. This means that the syrup does not sit around for very long, unlike at other restaurants.

Most McDonald's sell so much in fact, that their syrup does not come in boxes like most franchises.

Coca-Cola actually ships McDonald's syrup in stainless steel tanks.
These syrup tanks keep the product cooler and a bit fresher.

The bottom line as to why McDonald's Diet Coke—and, for that matter, the rest of their sodas, their coffee, and even their tap water—tastes better is because of the extra attention paid to the beverage systems.

There's also the rumor about the straws at McDonald's are thicker and bigger than their competition and  drinking out of a bigger straw brings in more oxygen. Just hope your state doesn't outlaw straws as they did in California.

Now think about this: Why would you pay for a bottled water when you now know that there is a good chance the water coming from the soda fountain at Micky D's may be as good if not better?

My  lady friend says,"When my kids were sick I would ALWAYS get them a Coke from M.D. To settle their stomachs plus French Fries. It always worked for them."
"My husband would always say we have Coke at home, why do you always ask me to get a fountain Coke when we get take home? I tell him it tastes better than the canned Coke. He always tells me I am crazy a Coke is a Coke. Now I can tell him why it tastes better from the fountain. Thanks McDonald's!"

Next time your in the mood for a pick me up download the McDonald's App on your smart phone and purchase a large a diet coke for $1.00 and you can get medium fries  for free--- and if your really hungry you can also get a Big Mac, McDouble or Quarter pounder  for only $1.00 too using the most amazing App on the internet.

Mayors need a VP or Lt. Governor type running mate
Publishers note- (This is written tongue-n-cheek)
Why do Mayors not have a replacement, a shadow, a helper, a running mate so to speak? The President has a Vice President-and most Governors have Lt. Governors? I propose our county institute the position of Lt. Mayor.
Mel Rapozo on the left, Derek Kawakami
on the right are the 2 finalists in Kauai's
mayor race. Lenny Rapozo in the
middle came in 4th in the primary
and did not make it to
 the general election...

Kauai island has a real dilemma on their hands, 2 outstanding men of integrity and honor (2 mensch's) for the job of Mayor and many people are friends with both, Derek Kawakami and Mel Rapozo including yours truly.

Sharing is something we were all taught as 'keiki' and I believe most 'children' to this day are still instilled the values of Aloha which include sharing.

My friends, Monica and Derek Kawakami

Since so many on this island  are friends with both candidates  and as far as I know both candidates respect each other, serve on the same council and until this mayors race developed would had called each other friends---and as far as I know still do.

Why not do what no other Mayor's race in history has done?  Have both candidates concede and agree to share the responsibilities of being our Mayor? God forbid if anything tragic happened to either of them the other would be there to step right in like a Vice President or Lt. Governor. They could also work alternate months, one month on, one month off.

My friends, Patsy and Mel Rapozo

Since Derek Kawakami received more votes in the primary use his last name as the prefix and Mel Rapozo's last name as the suffix to create;  Ready....
Drum roll.....

The 'Kawapozo' administration! However since Mel is Derek's elder (kupuna) some would consider it pono to use Mel's name first therefore calling it the 'Rakami' administration.  'Kawapozo' or 'Rakami,' you be da judge!  ;-)

For all you so serious people out there, it’s OK to laugh.

Let's not have what's happened in National politics with all the hatred and partisanship happen here on our cosmic island, we're better than that! I think?

Good luck to both my friends, Derek and Mel, or should I say, Mel and Derek!  God bless and may the best man win!

Close call on the pedestrian trail in Kapaa on Thursday ,8-30-18.
I was walking my dog around 11:00 AM Thursday, a man in his mid
60's  careened his SUV of the Oceanside side cliffs opposite Friendship house
around 10:00 AM. Thank God nobody on the trail was injured.
The man walked away with no injuries. The police were calling it
a miracle that nobody was injured.

Weather people seem to always get it wrong

The  weather people employed by the major network affiliates in Hawaii seem to never get it right.

Last week 5 days prior to Hurricane Lane's alleged arrival there was 24-7 coverage interrupting my favorite TV shows  to buy bottled water, Spam, Ramen noodles and toilet paper.

They interrupted pre-season football and worst of all Judge Judy.

This went on for days, be ready they said, fill your bath tub with water, have extra batteries for the radio and some candles ready when the electricity eventually goes out.

When it rains hard my back door will occasionally flood. After the April floods I went on Amazon and purchased a Hydro barrier, it's an alternative to sandbags. I cannot lift sandbags due to my spinal condition. The hydro barrier is great, just bring the hose to fill it up!
For preparations for Hurricane Lane I Flex taped
the seams of my back door and used a hydro barrier
acting as a sandbag. in case of flooding... Hydro barriers
may be purchased on Amazon and act as sandbags...

It’s not that I don’t like Guy Hagi of 'Hawaii News Now,' Justin Cruz of 'KHON' or Pete Caggiano of 'KITV-Island News,' however with 3 major
Meteorologist Pete Caggiano of
KITV Island News
network affiliates reporting constant weather for 3 days you'd think someone would had gotten it right? Back in April during the worst floods in Kauai's history there was no warning by any of these weatherman/meteorologists

The icing on the cake all 3 networks
Meteorologist Just Cruz
of  KHON News Hawaii
said we dodged a bullet in Hawaii and here on Kauai the hurricane has passed us by...--Then last Monday and Tuesday August 27th and 28th we had major flooding again on Kauai's North and South shores.  We are sad to report Kauai had a fatality of a man dying rescuing a dog in a flooded stream.

Next time please don't interrupt my favorite TV shows. My TV shows relieve my stress, the weatherman give me stress.  Most everyone has smart phones and
Meteorologist Guy Hagi of
Hawaii News Now
we can wait for the morning shows, noon news,  5:00-6:00-9:00 and 10:00 o'clock news for any not so breaking news.

Please don't interrupt my favorite TV shows especially NFL football games to tell me of the  weather you think may be coming, even if it's a ballistic missile scare, I really don't want to know, because if it's for real we're all gonna die any way.
Kauai County council meetings
rerun multiple times
every week on local government
access TV

Therefore  why  not go out happy watching 'Judge Judy'  your favorite football team, 'Bachelor in Paradise', even reruns of 'Gomer Pyle,'  'Kauai county council meetings,'or your favorite show?

Local  meteorologists  please take note of how to report accurate weather!
My favorite all time weather report,  by the late George Carlin, "Weather forecast for tonight:
Dark, continued dark overnight, with widely scattered light by morning."

That's one they never get wrong!  Along with the famous Mexican weather report of, "Chili today and hot Tamale."

Stay dry and safe, Hurricane season is not over until November.
