Pono, Not Porno

The Hawaiian word pono does not work well on spell check, pono is a frequently used Hawai'ian word that means righteous.

 Many people in Hawaii use popular Hawaiian  words such as  Aloha, A Hui Hou, Mahalo and pono mixed in with everyday conversation. 

 I recently used  the word pono in an email, the spell-check on my computer corrected  it to porno, I wasn't paying attention and the email was sent with the word porno where pono should had been.    

This was an email about the great places to buy a plate lunch on Kauai. It was intended for a woman I just met on e-harmony. I wrote, "I want you to know  I enjoy the Pono market." It read after spell-check, "I want you to know I enjoy the Porno market."

Needless to say because of Spell check I no longer have the potential of this person as a soul mate, although I highly recommend the Pono market for one the best plate lunches on Kaua'i.
