"One restaurant at a time.." 'Judith Whitehead' (Inspiration Sunday)

"Guest-blogger Judith Whitehead lives in Amherst N.Y. and has worked in the ophthalmology field of medicine for over 30 years... Today she talks about one of  her favorite ways to escape... !Enjoy! ;D)

Going through Life…One restaurant at a time

Working full long days can become stressful in the medical field; my husband and I have found a way to break up the week and de stress from the day.  We often like to try new restaurants in the area; during the week we try and keep it economical and frequent mid-range prices.  It’s our little get a way from the hustle of the day even if only for an hour or so.  We try and keep it simple, usually eating  at establishments that have gotten to know us.

Some restaurants even have gotten to know what we are going to order…It’s comforting to eat in a place where you are recognized; kind of like an extended family.  So if you are unable to take a well needed vacation…just think of a few establishments that you have not tried before and take a little breath from the bustle of the day and chillax.

Like Cheers, "Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

I wish we had more than fast food establishments that are affordable on Kauai... However they know me at the local Burger King where I go for a diet coke or hot tea almost everyday. They treat me like a King there, it's probably the best Burger King in the country. Very little turnover and the service is excellent, they all know my name and know what I want even before I order. I always point to my head, like do you know what i want? And they usually do. Two days a week I treat myself to value french fries in zero trans-fat oil along with a drink...
