Finally a solution to traffic Gridlock on Kaua'i
The road is said to be elevated most of the way and will employ over 200 full time construction workers to get this project completed in a record predicted 13 months. When completed the toll road is said to employ over 50 full time workers and 30 part time and seasonal.
The toll road usage fee will cost $8.00 each way but a monthly pass can be purchased for $200.00. That is a huge savings if you commute daily.
Kauai county's new county manager was quoted as saying,"Finally a solution to traffic Gridlock on Kauai."
This project is being funded by a group of venture capitalists that also star on a syndicated reality show.
The only thing that stands in the way is a group calling themselves, 'Friends against anything and everything,' which is being spearheaded by none other than local political activist April Foolze.
Happy April Fools Day! ;-)

"Friends against anything and everything" --- LMAO! Happy 4/1 Kimo-San!
I'm looking forward to the tunnels they're gonna dig thru the mountains that connect each town directly across the island. Those are going to be so awesome!
Yes, I heard the new County Manager speak of this!
I saw someone already start digging. He was only using a garden shovel, so it may be years before the tunnels are ready...

"Good, Kimo very good. A County manager would be a corrective action for lots of our mess and a toll road would be a lot better solution to the traffic than JoAnns buses, bikes, walking and her other dreamworld scenarios"

Aloha Glenn,
I always agree with you on the County manager concept.
I lived in Homer Alaska many years and it worked really well there. Why not give it a try!
I also like your stance on the Japanese little league being opened to all ethnicities. Keep writing!

Thank you for your gift of laughter.

Wish I could set up a toll booth, need the money too.
Do it Rick. Just set up a giant lemonade stand looking thing up in the middle of the road & start collecting.
A "Haola Juice Stand" with added laxative ..... We can get them at pay to unload rest stop......
Bwahahaha!!
Mahalo Joanne, I love making people smile and or laugh! ;-)

Thanks, Kimo. We are going to need all the help we can get going after a county manager so keep it on the top of your desk. The last time we tried to get it on the ballot for a vote the Administration mandated that all top rank county employees be at the meetings around the Island to counter our efforts and were successful. We are doing all we can to get 4 council members willing to put it on the ballot as the CRC will never do it and going the petition route is VERY hard.
Glad you are against AJA discriminating against any kid being able to play in their league because he/she doesn't have Japanese blood in them. I have fought it since I came here 25 years ago and will continue to do so---IT IS WRONG!!
Mahalo and you too keep writing.
Glenn,
Just as it was wrong as you have brought up many times up that Jackie Robinson was originally discriminated against.
Yes, keep me posted on the County Manager initiative and when the meetings maybe?
Aloha, Kimo
Puerto Rico has a lot of toll booths on all their highways but it was way cheaper than what is being proposed.
wow, first I heard about that! thanks for the heads up Kimo
Keahi, did you read the whole blog? It was an April Foolze!!
