"Murder at Costco..." 'Debbie Eayrs' (Source)

Guest-blogger Debbie Eayrs co-owner of Eayrs plumbing and heating from Homer, Alaska
is the source of  of this dark sided murder tale...Enjoy! ;D)

Murder at Costco

Tired of constantly being broke and stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided to
solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife, with himself as the beneficiary,
and then arranging to have her killed.

A 'friend of a friend' put him in touch with a nefarious, dark-side underworld figure who went by the
name of 'Artie.' Artie explained to the husband that his going price for snuffing out a spouse was $10,000.

The husband said he was willing to pay that amount but that he wouldn't have any cash on hand until he
could collect his wife's insurance money.

Artie insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened his wallet, displaying the
single dollar coin that rested inside.

Artie sighed, rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed to accept the dollar as down payment for the dirty deed.

A few days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Costco Warehouse. There, he surprised her
in the produce department and proceeded to strangle her with his gloved hands. As the poor unsuspecting woman drew her last breath and slumped to the floor, the manager of the produce department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene. Unwilling to leave any living witnesses behind, Ol' Artie had no choice but to strangle the produce manager as well.

However, unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security cameras and
observed by the shop's security guard, who immediately called the police. Artie was caught and arrested
before he could even leave the premises.

Under intense questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan, including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband who was also quickly arrested.

The next day in the newspaper, the headline declared..

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
'ARTIE CHOKES 2 for $1.00 @ Costco

Costco Kaua'i outdoor cafe back in the day when there wasn't a constant line.
25 years and a 1/4 lb hot dog and soda still only $1.50...

"Board shorts and Brazilian bikinis..." 'Deborah Morel'

Dakinetalk would like to welcome our newest guest-blogger
Deborah Morel. Deborah talks about  the recent  beach rescue
performed by a bikini clad mom.
Deborah is a Human and Judicial rights advocate. One of her favorite quotes close
to her heart is, "The dead cannot cry out for justice; it is a duty of the living to do this for them."
Lois McMaster Bujold

Board shorts and Brazilian bikinis

I read with humor Kimo Rosen’s opinion article, “What’s news anymore?”
http://thegardenisland.com/news/opinion/mailbag/letters-for-monday-may/article_fcdf109e-b60c-11e2-b46e-0019bb2963f4.html

...And recent blog;"NBA player comes out, who cares?"
 http://dakinetalk.blogspot.com/2013/05/nba-player-comes-out-who-cares-james.html

Kimo asks as to why an NBA player, making public he is gay, hits the front cover of Sports Illustrated. Recently, there was abounding news of supermodel Heidi Klum on holiday in O’ahu.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBQoOYBENDY (YouTube of beach rescue)

Spotlighted was, “The real Baywatch-2 Haute Chicks,” and “Add ‘lifeguard’ to the 39-year-old’s long list of jobs, which include supermodel ...”
Stories and photos spoke to a “dramatic” Hawai‘i beach rescue by bikini clad Heidi Klum — Klum and her bodyguard boyfriend rescuing Klum’s two nannies and family member from what was described as a treacherous riptide. Being a free diver, and having rescued a handful of folks on holiday enjoying the ocean, the story caught my attention.

In photos, the two nannies are being helped from the sandy edges of the water. In another, in this “dramatic rescue,” Heidi Klum is holding a young family member’s hand with her left hand, and holding the “arm” of her sunglasses with her right hand ... both survived the rescue.
Fame, fortune, and Brazilian bikinis. In the more than 15 ocean rescues I have witnessed or been a part of, we doing the fetching weren't clad in bikinis, but usually board shorts. If lucky, we accessorized with flotation devices, not sunglasses.

These rescues never hit the newspaper or TV.  Maybe if my friends and I wear a Brazilian bikini and pair of Gucci sunglasses — poised for the next ocean rescue, we will make our way to the cover of Sports Illustrated.

"Flowers are the perfect gift..." ' Judith Whitehead' (Inspiration Sunday)

"Guest-blogger Judith Whitehead lives in Amherst N.Y. and has worked in the
ophthalmology field of medicine for over 30 years...
Today she talks about the perfect gift, and no she doesn't own a flower shop... Enjoy...  ;D)

Flowers are the perfect gift

During this time of year there are many celebrations going on; graduations, birthdays, etc and I have found that there is one gift that surprises and delights many people…that is the gift of delivered flowers.

Nothing seems to cheer someone up or say I’m thinking about you as much as a burst of fragrant flowers to fill the room and awaken the senses.  Recently,  we sent my mother in law flowers for mother’s day and she remarks about them every time we talk to her. She admires the blooms and colors they add to the room and have been enjoying them for the whole week; a friend that has been feeling low this week received my bouquet of flowers to brighten her day and she was both surprised and excited to see that someone was thinking about her.  Flowers can fit any occasion and are a welcome gift to many and so easy to order on line.

When you are out of ideas….flowers are the pick of choice

"Pono, Not Porno..." 'James "Kimo" Rosen'

Pono Market in Kapa'a Hawaii has one of da best plate lunches on Kaua'i...

Pono, Not Porno

The Hawaiian word pono does not work well on spell check, pono is a frequently used Hawai'ian word that means righteous.

Many people in Hawaii use popular Hawaiian  words such as  Aloha, A Hui Hou, Mahalo and pono mixed in with everyday conversation.

I recently used  the word pono in an email, the spell-check on my computer corrected  it to porno, I wasn't paying attention and the email was sent with the word porno where pono should had been.

This was an email about the great places to buy a plate lunch on Kauai. It was intended for a woman I just met on e-harmony. I wrote, "I want you to know  I enjoy the Pono market." It read after spell-check, "I want you to know I enjoy the Porno market."

Needless to say because of Spell check I no longer have the potential of this person as a soul mate, although I highly recommend the Pono market for one the best plate lunches on Kaua'i.

"Atheism and Agnosticism are actually religions..." 'James "Kimo" Rosen'

Radha Dasi with her beloved sister in G-d chant Hare Krishna
bringing good vibrations to Kapa'a town on a recent Saturday.

Check out my Youtube I filmed of Radha Dasi;

This blog also appeared in the 05-17-13  edition of the  Kaua'i Garden Island news, "Atheism and Agnosticism are actually religions."
http://thegardenisland.com/news/opinion/mailbag/letters-for-friday-may/article_fbb4f668-beac-11e2-ade5-001a4bcf887a.html

One of the many definitions of religion is a system of faith and a common bond of worship.

Atheism and Agnosticism  are actually religions in their own realm since one of the many definitions of religion is a system of faith.

An atheist is actually practicing a system of faith and common bondage with others, that faith being, not believing in a God.

This is similar to a Christian saying he or she is a non-denominational Christian, and when visiting other cities they will usually seek a church calling itself non-denominational which is in essence a denomination.

May God and Darwin and anybody else anyone believes in,  bless us!

"HAVE A HAPPY DAY..." 'Bettejo Dux' (Classic Wednesday)

Bettejo  has lived on Kaua'i over 30 years and is a people lover,
animal lover, lover of life and strikes a dashing yoga pose...
Today Bettejo blogs about the most important of importance's,
To enjoy life and have a happy day!
Enjoy...

HAVE A HAPPY DAY

I think, if good health is the number one factor in aging gracefully, happiness is the second. Joy, laughter, love of life and living things, sharing thoughts, finding creative endeavors that last a life time are the most we can expect from life.

I think the happiest people in the world are those who woke up one morning when they were three and said, “I like to color, ” and the kid had a relative who gave him some color crayons and a coloring book, maybe even some blank pieces of scrap paper and said, “Do it.” One of the happiest grown ups I know loves to color. He uses crayons, blank white typewriter paper, and when he’s finished with his creative work that makes him happy, he sets it out in the sun to bake which does surprising and wonderful things to the waxy pigment. I guess you could call it sunshine art. He doesn't sell it. He doesn't care about money or being famous. He cares about coloring. Don’t you think that’s nice?

I know another guy, big guy, big-boned, strong arms-he work as a carpenter and is not gay-who decided if he had to work the rest of his life for his bread, butter and board, he’d find something to do he really enjoyed doing. So he became a clown. Self made. Dressed up in silly homemade costumes. Once he went as Cupid, in pink tights and a tutu, to an engagement party and, of course, reaped a harvest of laughter. Made tons of money that he cared little or nothing about. He tossed most of it away. Literally. Threw it out the window of his car as he drove through town laughing as people- little kids, old folks, men and women-chased the long green funny stuff as it drifted and floated like wayward leaves up and down the busy streets.

I think of Bhutan, hidden land of happiness, where they have an enlightened development policy of Gross National Happiness.

“Our gross national product now is over 800 billion dollars a year, but that gross national product, if we judge the US by that, counts air pollution, and cigarette advertising, and ambulances to clear our highways of carnage. It counts special locks for our doors and jails for people who break them. it counts the destruction of the redwoods and the loss of our natural wonder in chaotic squall. it counts napalm, and it counts nuclear warheads, and armored cars for the police to fight the riots in our cities. it counts Whitman’s rifles and Speck’s knives and the television programs, which glorify violence in order to sell toys to our children. Yet, the gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages, the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. it measures neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country. It measures everything, in short, except that which make life worthwhile.” Robert F. Kennedy, March 1968. We miss you, Bobby.

Read a book. Take a walk in the rain. Talk to a dog. Pet a cat. Listen to the birdies sing. Paint. Dance down the aisles of the super market. Smell the flowers. Taste the wind. Find something simple-free-to be happy about today.

Public Servants, Should Be Just That... & Winter..." 2-4-1- 'Chester "Unc" Lau' (Source)

Dakinetalks favorite Uncle (Chester Lau)
is back talking about overpaid public servants and Winter, the Winter of life itself...
Today we have 2 blogs for the price of one, 2-4-1. Mahalos Unc!
"Unc" is a retired cinematographer currently living
on the Hawai'ian Island of Oahu.& giving the politicians a bad time...

Public servants should be just that

Why do public servants like the mayor of Honolulu who makes $136,428 a year need a 4 percent raise ?

Public service should be an honor & not to fleece the tax payers...

How many tax payers make over $100,000 a year? Check out the homeless in Hawaii, and if f public servants are  not happy with their salary, they can resign & find a job in the private sector.

What if the taxpayers are broke ?

WINTER, BLOG #2

"I FIRST STARTED READING THIS EMAIL & WAS READING FAST UNTIL I REACHED THE THIRD SENTENCE. I STOPPED AND STARTED OVER READING SLOWER AND THINKING ABOUT EVERY WORD. THIS EMAIL IS VERY THOUGHT PROVOKING. MAKES YOU STOP AND THINK. READ SLOWLY! "   Chester "Unc" Lau

AND THEN IT IS WINTER
You know. . . time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But, here it is... the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise...How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go? I remember well seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it is...my friends are retired and getting grey...they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me...but, I see the great change...Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant...but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore... it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will... I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so...now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!! But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...this I know, that when it's over on this earth...its over. A new adventure will begin!

Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done...things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all in a lifetime.

So, if you're not in your winter yet...let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly ! Don't put things off too long!! Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not ! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life...so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past  !!

"Life" is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one.
LIVE IT WELL!
ENJOY TODAY!
DO SOMETHING FUN!
BE HAPPY !
HAVE A GREAT DAY
Remember "It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.

LIVE HAPPY IN 2013  & ON & ON  !
LASTLY, CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
TODAY IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN,
YET THE YOUNGEST YOU'LL EVER BE
SO - ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS.

~Your kids are becoming you......but your grandchildren are perfect  !
~Going out is good.. Coming home is better !
~You forget names.... But it's OK because other people forgot they even knew you !!!
~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything.... especially golf.
~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.
~You sleep better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than in bed. It's called "pre-sleep".

~You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch..

~You tend to use more 4 letter words ... "what?"..."when?"... ???

~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~You notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"    ?!!!

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.
~Everybody whispers.

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet.... 2 of which you will never wear.

~~~But Old is good in some things: Old Songs, Old movies, and best of all, OLD FRIENDS   !!
Stay well, "OLD FRIEND!" Send this on to other "Old Friends!" and let them laugh in AGREEMENT  !!!
It's Not What You Gather, But What You Scatter That Tells What Kind Of Life You Have Lived.
