"Politicians are like diapers, they all stink and should  be changed often."
(Donald Trump's disruption of the Fox News debate is a political masterstroke)

This is an old expression and joke, however it is one of the major reasons for the current political agenda showing business tycoon and billionaire Donald Trump ahead in every major political presidential poll.

The news anchors and journalists are still scratching their heads at how Trump is dominating the polls. There is an easy answer, they don't stop talking about him or following him around. Even when Trump opts out of a debate, you think, OK--time for the other candidates to speak.

Trump says jump and they say how high. All other candidates get a fraction of the prime time news.

America loves reality TV.
American Idol, Survivor, The Kardashians, The Apprentice and now the 2016 presidential primary is taking on the tune of reality TV.

That's why Donald J. Trump will be the next President.

Food for thought: For decades our country has wrestled with the disparaging gap between the little man and rich corporate America, always hoping the next president's promise to equalize matters would somehow pan out. But it hasn't, and growing corporate greed and power has nearly wrecked this country. ~~And now, here we little people are, ready to elect the EPITOME OF RICH CORPORATE AMERICA as our leader and answer to the problem! smile emoticon Duh.

So right! It seems as if this countries' people give the most adoring attention to those personalities that create chaos, are mean spirited and who have zero redeemable qualities. Look at the most popular "reality" personalities and you can see that this is so very true. The American public has been bombarded with all of this negativity through television, the nightly news, tabloids and social media. This has perpetuated the true dumbing down of a lot of people, especially the gullible and those who are unhappy in their own lives. Americas moral values have subsequently suffered due to the lack of respect, as well as any type of recognition, for the persons that truly deserve our hero status and respect for living their lives in an upstanding manner.

I believe the American people are tired of politics as is. Democratic and Republican alike have lied and been corrupt. Donald Trump is not a career politician and wears his uncensored heart on his sleeve. The American mindset has shrunk and having someone like Trump, or any reality star is appealing to many since we think we know them by watching their show. The absence of Trump at the GOP debate last night made it boring and ironically the ,moderators and other contenders still talked about Trump. He had a fundraiser for disabled veterans going on at the same tim-- results are in and all major networks are saying Trump won the debate by not being there?. genius? I think so! 'wink emoticon

Joan Mcfarlane said...

Not. I think he looks like a coward by not showing up. The news, here in Iowa, was not that kind to him. Basically, his little fundraiser, was just more of him spouting off about his own delusions of grandeur than anything else. Yes, a couple of million dollars were raised for vets, (Iowans are notoriously generous for a decent cause) but it was more of a public relations bid in self promotion than it was about our veterans. (Iowans also can see through BS quite easily)

We will see the results on Monday!

As far as for the news media, they are all about the ratings. And unfortunately controversy in our media draws millions of viewers like moths to a flame. And anything the news networks can do to fuel that fire they are sure to do it. Which again, brings us back full circle to reality TV and our irresponsible news media.

Based on his own words,Trump is a racial and religious bigot enroute to opening up the new Buchenwald for processing those to be expelled and, eventually, those here legally; but, with a "dangerous" religion! How can this be considered "entertaining?

Voters are confused,we don't have George Washington or Thomas Jefferson any more frown emoticon Libertarians don't have the money to campaign ,so the Iraq/Afghan wars continues !!!

Like you say all the media has to do is ignore Trump and he would lose a lot of his popularity. But they hand on his every word and move and just give him the ammunition he is looking for.

The guy is arrogant and combative, not courageous; sly and cunning, not genius; a self-centered show-boater, not a diplomatic leader of people. He's too volatile, freaky and flaky to be steering a nation...and no, kiddys, following the Trumpeteer into the woods will not make you rich with candy like him. wink emoticon

Right now he has 30 something percent of a party that is 30 something percent of the voters. Birthers (and he is one) make up 30 something percent of that same party!

re there more sane people in American than insane people. That's the secret. The idiot Trump has the religious right on his side, that should be enough to send everyone with any brains screaming for shelter. Working on house project--t 'the great fixer-uper--helps distract me.
