"Monk seal hospital, really..?" 'James "Kimo" Rosen'

"Monk seals an endangered species seem to get better care than many people..." This blog also appeared this same day(01-21-12) as an opinion article in the Kauai Garden island news with the title, "What's next?"

The news of a new Monk seal hospital has me scratching my head. This hospital is scheduled to break ground on the Big island's Kona side and will cost an estimated 3.2 million dollars.
I find this to be the ironies of ironies,  less than 30 days ago on Oahu two hospitals,  Hawaii Medical center east in Liliha and Hawaii medical center west in Ewa shut down hospitals for humans, leaving close to 1,000 people without jobs and a strain on the already existing hospitals and emergency care workers.

I just don't  get it... Whats next , a hospital for sick chickens?

Francine said via the Garden news comments page;"Kimo...I have to agree with you on this one. Kind of an imbalance here, when it's more important to 'Save The Whales, Monk Seals, Shearwaters', etc. over Human Lives. Saw on the news a few days ago, that due to HMC closing down, Human Organs are now being shipped to the Mainland. These organs won't save anyone from Hawaii unless they are able to afford the added expense of traveling to the Mainland, this on top of the costs of the organ transplants.
While living on the Big Island a few years ago, it was apparent that doctors are already finding it hard to live and work in Hawaii due to the Cost-Of-Living and the High Cost of Malpractice Insurance. Try obtaining a Primary Care Provider on the Big Island and it's like asking someone to give you a body part.....SO NOT EASY!! "
