Parents pick up keiki at Kapaa elementary school...

" Living Obits..."

Most people only get their names in the paper when they die and the local papers offer free space to say nice things about the diseased.

My idea is to run an annual living obituary for people that are still alive and kicking. Local newspapers could add a new section to their papers called 'living obits.'

Why not say nice things about people while they are still living? Why is it we wait until one of our friends or relatives dies to reflect on the positive attributes of their life's journey.

Everyone has baggage, it seems while we are alive people focus on other people's baggage. It's time to put baggage aside and leave suitcases to rest, it's time to search for the best.
