Scott Sims, the ultimate mensch---and memorial info

Scott came over to trim Piggy's nails. Since the pig was anesthetized, Scott said in a facetious but sincere manner, "you might as well paint those nails." My friend proceeded to paint Piggy's nails pink. From then on Carrie would periodically rub Piggy's belly to relax her while refreshing that nice feminine look . The enclosed photo shows Miss Piggy with painted nails and a Jewish Yamaca. Yes folks, a Kosher Female Jewish pig with painted nails. Please forgive me Rabbi.

I guess it's not for us to judge, but it's hard not to. Those whom believe in God will state there's a reason for everything and the non believers and even some believers will question , WHY?
I have never seen so many comments on Facebook----not only from Scott's home of his 'Pegasus' veterinary animal clinic on the cosmic island of Kauai, but from people all around the globe.
Dr. Scott was more popular than most movie stars and politicians. Dr. Scott was not trying to achieve fame, yet achieved fame and fortune, the fortune of doing what he loved. When asked what he did for vacation he would reply," I'm living it."
Dr. Scott was a truly a dignitary. I have never met a soul that knew him personally or para socially from his nationally televised TV show "The Aloha vet" that didn't consider this man an icon, dignitary and friend. Scott, as my Jewish friends would say was the ultimate mensch---translating to 'a person of integrity and honor.' It is the highest honor to be called a mensch!

Thousands of condolences messages for Dr. Scott were posted all over the internet and Facebook this past week, here are a few;
"This is heartbreaking news! I also only knew him from the show but have a wonderful story. My 11 year old future veterinarian watched his show for hours! Our boxer has struggled with ear infections etc and she has tried every trick in the book to help him. One day I came into the kitchen and she was on the phone explaining his symptoms and I asked who she was talking to and she said "Dr.Sims, the aloha vet!" She looked up the number online and was sooooo happy and impressed that he not only answered but talked to her about her dog! So thankful for the time he took to chat with her."~Aryn Kelley Lallas~
"I can only imagine the many animals that greeted Scott in heaven now healed, healthy and happy. What joy he must be feeling. You can rest easy now Scott, enjoy the love of all the animals that passed and that you cared for with such compassion. We will carry on with your passion to have a for a free clinic here on Kauai, this will be your legacy. Please give many hugs to Maile, I miss her so very much. I am eternally thankful that you helped her take her final journey here at her home surrounded by love. Until we all meet again."~Alice Monaghan~
"I am so sad to hear this! I knew him on a personal level when he use to live in California. He use to be our vet and he was truly an amazing person. When he moved to the island of Kauai, we had a very sick horse and he would ship us medication. And we just talked to him on the phone like a month ago! My heart is truly heavy."~Jacklyn Elizabeth Hutton~
"The Veterinary Community has lost one of a kind. In knowing Scott only through watching "Aloha Vet", it was evident that he lived life and loved his work with equal passion. I am a Vet Tech, and it would have been an honor to work with this amazing man. This barefoot Vet now walks with our Father. My heart and prayers go out to his family, Dia, and Ella. ~Victoria Filippelli-Corbett~
"I feel like a member of my family passed. Dr Scott reflected his kind gentle spirit in the work he did. My deepest sympathy for his family and friends. He will be missed but not forgotten." ~Lona Phillips Sauro~
From Miss Piggy's mom, " He was one in a million that was real and made a lasting impression for all that knew him and was lucky enough to have him as their vet. He made a lasting impression on this world in a positive way. Not many people do that. He will live on in our memory. Aloha Scott" ~Carrie Kneubuhl -Eckert~
