Help wanted signs and how Biden could cement his legacy

The generation of participation trophies and not being spanked has grown up and they

all seem to want to start at the top and be CEOs. Many are not working and live in their parent's basements and mother-in-law suites if allowed.

On Kauai, this is also the generation of over 33 valedictorians to a class of 258. You heard me right. It always amazes me every June when I read of the Valedictorian and it's not one person but a group of people. How can a group

of 30 or more people be the smartest? This is another extreme example of the participation trophy concept. This helps explains why a good percentage of young people are not working when so many think they were the smartest in their class when in essence there can only be one smartest.

Along with folks getting

used to all the many benefits of COVID for food and rent assistance and working at home, people just plain and simply don't want to go to a regular job anymore even though the pandemic is behind us.

I am noticing more and more businesses asking folks to download their apps if they have

a smartphone to save themselves and their employees much-needed time since most of the employees are now doing the work of two to three people.

Customers are afraid to send undercooked and incorrect food items back when eating at a restaurant for fear that the employees will be offended and quit or deliver their new meal with ex-lax or spit in it.
Employers will not fire their help, even terrible help, because they cannot find help, they figure, anything is better than nothing.

We are now trained and

accustomed to not complaining when there are long lines or long waits because we may get reprimanded for how hard they have it and how they're all working double shifts just to serve us. Nobody wants to be shamed.

Self-checkout is now the norm in Big-Box, Grocery-stores, and discount stores. Fast food restaurants now encourage you to order on their apps to speed up service and not bother with their counter help. Amazon and Walmart.com are now the norms for shopping versus having human interchange. A manager at Costco told me very soon Costco will have a kiosk in their food court where you place your own order, and pay on a credit or debit card and your order will be waiting for you at the counter. Since the consumer is doing so much of the work shouldn't we get a discount or at least be invited to the employee Christmas party?

It won't be long before

robots and apps replace all the help in America, unless of course the illegal immigrants are denied welfare and housing and forced to work as what was once the American way.

Maybe it's time to make lemonade out of the lemons since the Mexican border is out of control with record numbers of illegal crossings, just maybe these illegals can help solve the work situation which is in despair.

Just maybe Biden could

cement his legacy with a 'Biden Doctrine' which to me would help make him a legitimate president by solving the work situation by putting illegal immigrants to work in lieu of giving them free housing and food and making America prosper again!

Should anyone get free housing let it be the houseless veterans who have served our great country, not those who came here illegally.

May God bless America!
