How does one stay motivated at their job when there are no rewards for the hard work that has been done all year?
One of the few offices I have worked in over the years is comprised of a small staff, two docs and no holiday lunch/dinner, no party. A small monetary envelope as an afterthought with no message even written on the envelope or card.
I guess motivation must come from inside ourselves.
We must enjoy our work so much that we are doing it for the greater good.
Just the smallest gesture of good will goes a long long way; hopefully all those bosses out there find a way to recognize their staff this one time a year when it is much appreciated.
Yes we work for a salary and can put food on the table but once in a while how about we just hear those words, "good job, or "job well done". We know in our hearts we are doing a great job but it helps to hear it.
