You may be a conservative in liberal attire
I believe most Hawaii Democrats do not know why they are Democrats and have little knowledge of what the Democratic doctrine represents.
Most Dems I speak with including some local politicians do not believe in abortion,
Supporting late-term abortion, denying our 2nd amendment rights, and supporting a pro-Palestinian agenda
I believe people vote blindly in Hawaii. Name recognition and the good ole boy's network vs studying the issues is the main reason politicians get elected in the 50th state and especially Kauai county.
Do your research, I think you'll be surprised. You may have more Republican talking points in your repertoire than you reckon. That's right, you may just be a Dem
It's never too late to change sides, I did. Do your research, study the candidates and their platforms, don't just vote blindly!

Take a deep look into the mirror than an even deeper peek into your soul.
You may be astonished to realize you’re a conservative in liberal attire.
‘I believe’ most Hawaii Democrat’s do not know why they are Democrats and have little knowledge of what the Democratic doctrine represents.
Most Dems I speak with including some local politicians do not believe in abortion, have a regular house of worship and like their hunting. In fact, most overwhelmingly do not want to legalize recreational marijuana or have their gun rights threatened. These are just a few talking points that many “local Dems” seem confused over.
Supporting late-term abortion, denying our 2nd amendment rights, and supporting a pro-Palestinian agenda is the new norm for the Democratic party. The Democratic Party is not what it used to be.
I believe people vote blindly in Hawaii. Name recognition and the “good ole boy’s” network vs studying the issues is the main reason politicians get elected in the 50th state, and especially Kauai County.
Do your research, I think you’ll be surprised. You may have more Republican talking points in your repertoire than you reckon. That’s right, you may just be a Dem waiting to be born again into the conservative Republican world. After-all you may possess many Republican ideals you never even realized. Just don’t be a Dem because your parent’s voted that way or your friend is running on the Democratic ticket — think for yourself and study all the issues.
It’s never too late to change sides, should you choose — I did. This also goes for Republicans, Libertarian, Green party, Independents and all political parties — do your research, should you want to change, do it. Study the candidates and their platforms, don’t just vote thoughtlessly with your eyes closed.
The only Democrat currently running for president who acknowledges Trump won the election fair and square with no Russian collusion and that the N.Y. Times and CNN are fake news is Hawaii’s own Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard also called Hillary Clinton the “embodiment of corruption.” I think it’s time Tulsi change sides too!
Did you know out of 21 people recently running for president that Donald Trump was the only one against killing babies? To put it more simply, Trump is the only one, Democrat or Republican currently running for president in 2020 against late-term abortion.

And to the politicians who travel with armed guards and bouncers yet lecture us about peace and guns. This bottomless hypocrisy is why America chooses Trump!
I used to think it was nerdy to be a conservative, now I realize it’s the only way to save what we know as the United States of America. I would rather be a nerdy “deplorable” than living in a bankrupt socialist nation living under Sharia law.

Good read, I too was a Demoncrat because my parents were, but when I got into the workforce I really looked at the Demoncrat platform and policies and it was 180 degrees on what I believed and it had a lot to do with being a conservative.

There are local politicians that are dems that are against abortion, yet remain dems?
I understand where you are coming from and agree to a point. I have registered Democrat and have always voted for it against candidates and issues no matter the stand if the party. I too am against recreational marijuana, abortion (the woman had the right to say no or use a contraceptive), there are other things I stand arm and arm with others on which means I stand for the rights given us 200+ years ago by our forefathers and foremothers. Things I do not agree with is treating people, humans, the way the Jews were treated (except for the gas chambers) during the second world war. It makes me want to take every man/woman Jack including the president and trading places with these poor suffering people. The Statue of Liberty's plaque says, "Give me your tired your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free. The wretched refuge of your teeming shores. Send these, the homeless tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door." What if Trump's mother was denied access to the US? Would he have become president of Mexico?

I am a liberal Democrat, Kimo, but not mindlessly as you imply. I don't support abortion, but I support a woman''s right to choose. I don't want to take away your gun, Kimo, (if you have one), but I don't believe anyone outside the military should have an assault weapon, & I don't think getting a gun should be easier than getting a driver's license. As for Israel, I don't really have a strong opinion either way.

Still, they should be treated with respect, not have their babies pulled from their arms, fed as little as possible, more or less treated like animals. Do you know young ladies are allowed 1 sanitary pad for their cycle a day and if it isn't sufficient too bad. I would never treat someone the way they are treated illegal or not. They are too God's children and I'm sure He is aware of this and is as displeased as many of us are. Trump can make things at least humane for these poor people fleeing death in their own country. He need not apply for God's job as He is not retiring as of yet. Oh yeah, MY people should have had Trump on hand 2 centuries ago as our immigration laws were lax to the extreme. Remember I'm 3/4 American Indian & 1/4 Hawaiian. LOL

Same idea but people would get pissed because of cruelty to the dogs but it's ok because these people are illegal. I wasn't raised that way. Also, if they are illegal, process them, make them legal, put them on one of those abandoned military sites and let them farm and be useful citizens. Don't keep treating them like animals.

Hawaii citizens have their eyes wide open when choosing Democrats. The Republican record reinforces their choice.
During the eight years of Obama’s presidency, the Republicans did nothing but obstruct, obstruct, obstruct. The Democrats are the Party of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Obama passed the Affordable Care Act. Republicans have done nothing but try to get rid of it.
Trump was elected and immediately cut taxes, massively favoring the 1%, of which he is a member. Republicans claimed that the tax money shifted to top earners and corporations would be used to increase wages. Instead, the money grabbers used the money to buy stock, further enriching themselves.
Today, in America, 40% of workers earn $15 an hour or less. And deficits do matter. Because of the tax cuts, our government has to borrow billions to stay open.
Trump won the election because he knew little about government and promised to run it like a business. He certainly fulfilled that promise. He runs it like a business, a crooked business. He lacks a moral compass. He’s achieved success by lying, cheating, shouting outrageous, bombastic things and using vulgar language demeaning his enemies.
This is how the Republicans have exposed themselves. No matter how erratic or corrupt our president is, they stand in solidarity with him. That is the Mortal sin of today’s Republican Party. How can they survive?

What a wonderful heart felt and accurate letter! Thank you Kimo! I too have come to realize just how sick, obsessed with evil, and self destructive the Democrat Party has become. Killing babies who are viable outside of the womb, taking every means of self defense away from the people in defiance of our Constitution, opening our borders to illegal behavior of all kinds perpetrated by third world freeloaders, and yes, their rapists and murderers who have raped and killed our legal citizens and our children in every State etc. If enough of America becomes destitute and homeless the Socialists (now camouflaged as “Democrats”) aka. “The Green New Deal” nonsense. Their insane policies will make sure, our Country ceases to exist as the America who has saved the world of freedom for others, and ourselves, numerous times over our short history. Thank you Kimo! Each of us have several lists of those that have proven reckless, incompetent, fraudulent and so violent-minded, warring machines and mentality. Endless supply of monies, for pilautician candidates, leaving any thoughts of changing regime manipulations and maneuvers to Huli the practices that continue to place us at huge risks in the worldwide. Missile events, like the “oops” that was not an oops at all. We found out at that time, that this ruse was deployed to see what the community would do under such duress. Not one candidate advocates killing babies. Roe v Wade, decided by your own US Supreme Court, remains our law, which clearly states an abortion is not “killing a baby”. Do some research. Learn our laws. Don’t advocate limiting the constitutional rights of others just because you personally don’t agree with the laws. That’s the core of the problem with Trump supporters: they insist on telling the rest of us how to live our lives, both morally and politically. Don’t try and force your bible-thumping morals down our throats. Let people be and enjoy their choices. We don’t want to be dragged back to the 1950’s! The rest of your letter contain the usual pro-Trump rhetoric and falsehoods. Take your own advice: think for yourself.

James, you need to do as you say regarding late term abortions because you clearly know nothing about them. For instance nearly all late term abortions are for wanted babies who have terrible conditions that will result in difficult death immediately after birth and may also endanger the life of the mother. These mothers want their babies and go through agony to find the right path. Republicans like you want to separate babies from their mothers at the border for political reasons. You are a cruel and uncaring person.

The winner of all the Democratic debates thus far has been Trump. The only way the Dems have a chance at 2020 is to drain their own swamp and run a non politician- find their version of Trump. There was talk of Mark Cuban or Oprah, either would be light years ahead of the bozos currently trying to cement the nomination.

James, you need to quit using Twitter as your new source because Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about most of the time.
* More than 98 percent of abortions are performed within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy = that is NOT “a baby”.
* When labor is induced anytime later than the 28-week mark, very rarely at 36 weeks, it is usually because a major portion of the baby’s brain is missing (called anencephaly) and the baby will not live. This is not classified as an abortion.
* 43 states prohibit abortions after a specified point in pregnancy (usually past the point of viability, defined by most doctors as 24 weeks), except when necessary to protect the woman’s life or health.
*How many children have you adopted? How many has Trump adopted? There’s currently thousands right here in America waiting for homes.
FACTS are rather important James. You and Trump are the ones that should do your “research” before you continue spreading misinformation.
