The May 8, 2013 edition of Sports Illustrated features Jason Collins, about a professional gay basketball player coming out of the closest. should this be reason enough to make front cover of Sports Illustrated? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/magazine/news/20130429/jason-collins-reveals-gay-nba-arn-tellem/ |

You may call me old school since I don't understand why a NBA player coming out of the closest claiming he is gay makes front cover of Sports Illustrated?

If Jason Collins had broke a record, scored 50 points or done something remarkable in his Basketball profession he deserves to be the cover story of Sports Illustrated.
Just because you are gay is not reason enough to make the cover of Sports Illustrated.
On the other hand, if Tom Brady just led his team to a Superbowl victory, gay or straight that's a cover story.
Now if a player is not gay or doesn't have an imaginary girlfriend what can they do to make sports history? I quit.
