The perfect place to be during a nuclear holocaust

I do not wish a nuclear attack however since I live in Hawaii and there is talk of North Korea being capable of reaching the two most western states, Hawaii and Alaska. Hawaii's civil  defense is in order.

Kauaians continue life as normal despite North Korea threat

The simplest of the warnings is: "Don’t run. Get inside." Sheltering in place, beneath as many layers of protection as possible, is the best way to avoid the radiation that would follow a nuclear detonation.“The goal is to put as many walls and as much concrete, brick and soil between you and the radioactive material outside.”

I have thought of where I would like to be in the God awful time something like this might happen? They say cement buildings with no  windows are best suited and to have at least a 2 week supply of dry and canned food, emergency generators would be nice too.

A thought hit me as I was doing my weekly shopping sojourn at Costco, there is not a place I would rather be stuck and shut off from the outside  world than a Costco warehouse-outlet.
Cement floors, cement walls,
cement ceilings,
 ton's of food, a pharmacy,

pillows, and more than
2 weeks of everything one

 would need
during a nuclear attack

 at Costco.
I am not advocating for a

 Nuclear attack,
however in the event

 there is one,
I would not mind getting stuck

 at Costco with my
best friend Ivanka Obama only

because there are
no fall out shelters on Kauai.

Think about it, they have emergency generators, cement walls and ceilings and millions of dollars worth of food inventory, entertainment, toiletries, a pharmacy, pillows,  and more than
2 weeks of everything one would need during a nuclear attack at Costco.

I am not advocating for a Nuclear attack,
however in the event there is one,
I would not mind getting stuck inside a Costco warehouse outlet  since there are no fall out shelters on Kauai.

So, if 'D' day ever comes, not that I hope it happens anytime soon, but if if does happen, I am hoping  on a Monday between 11AM and 1:00 PM. Those are my shopping hours every week at my favorite store, Costco wholesale in Lihue.

At least if I'm going to croak, I can die in class stuck inside   Costco Lihue with my best friend Ivanka Obama, maybe the most perfect place to be should G-d forbid we ever need shelter.

How do you think the interpersonal dynamics would play out if out lots of people were stuck there?

KimoRosen said...

People will eventually get to each other, but better than the alternative. What do you think?

Reports from kind locals that went through very tough times during hurricanes tell different stories. Those of sharing, caring, helping and looking out for one another. I do know we have an element here that may be different in some ways, but I believe that love over evil always wins.

During both natural disasters and man made disasters such as 911 even in New York city people were known for their acts of kindness, this isn't something just akin to the islands.... It's different being bottlenecked up in a warehouse with 3,000 people packed in like sardines not being able to go anywhere, that's what I believe Harmony was referring too and what my answer was based upon. Still with that said during such a terrible time I would still choose to be at Costco verses all the other alternatives?

Good one Rabbi,

Best is NOT to start a Nuke war where there are NO PLACE TO HIDE WITH YEARS OF RADIATION !!! Are crazies like Donald Trump ,Kim Jung Un , Vladimir Putin immune from radiation ?no one wins in a Nuke war !!!would you like to ware a jump suit 24/7 & try to eat a Big Mac thru a protective mask 24/7 ?

Obey Uncle C's commandment : MAKE LOVE,NOT WAR !!!

Donald Trump & Kim Jung Un & Vladimir Putin can exchange & share their left over lunches for peace offering by dropping month old Big Mac or Kimchee on each other's dinning table..

Executive Order from Uncle C's Dumpster

I think you would need a time table based on how much food divided by the # of people & an estimate of how long until it is safe to go outside again. It would help to grow more food while you're there as well. People would have to share chores like serving & cleaning of the bathrooms etc, and take turns with recreational resources as well. i didn't expect to be strategizing about this!

Harmony, Do u live in NY?

Harmony Bentosino said...

No, I live in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu!

KimoRosen said...

Yes, best to not not start a war, but you must give Trump credit for scaring Kim Jun Un away on this last Nuclear threat.

Yah but are they gonna lock down during an alert ?? I was at Foodland during today’s alert ...they didn’t kick anyone out. But they closed. So unless you happen to be inside when the alert is sent—even if you can get there in 12 min—will they let yu in ???

.....and Costco has food!

They have a hard time building homeless shelters

So, was your Costco shelter comment also satiric?

Costco's tin roof likely to collapse

Shelters will do no good

I might help depending where it hits...if Oahu vs Big Island, it could be helpful depending on the payload.

If I have to die I'd rather it be there.

We were just talking about that today!

Dying at Costco?
