"Guest-blogger Judith Whitehead lives in Amherst N.Y. and has worked in the ophthalmology field of medicine for over 30 years..." She talks about our mother's and what they mean to us...! Enjoy!"
Soon enough…Mothers Day will be upon us...
I always have mixed emotions on this National Holiday when we honor our moms for all their sacrifice and love they show their families all year long; I always avoid making plans until the last minute so as to spend the day thinking of my own mother that passed away 13 years ago last month.
I usually bring her a flowering plant to her grave-site and spend the day remembering all the Mothers days that have passed in which we always went out for a nice family dinner. This year my daughter-in-law to be has suggested a nice Brunch Buffet to try out ; it was thoughtful of her to come up with the idea and I am sure we will have a very nice time. I know all you children out there can empathize with me; It’s hard to celebrate this American Holiday when you have lost a mother who you were close to.
To all those whose mothers are still with us…celebrate their love and devotion with them and show them your gratitude. There is no need to spend lavish amounts of gifts; all they want is your time and attention and maybe some flowers, chocolates’ or food. It all shows your appreciation which is all they really want..
Happy Mothers’ Day
