French Policeman

This happened to an Englishman in France who was totally drunk.

The French policeman stops his car and asks the gentleman if he has been drinking.

With great difficulty, the Englishman admits that he has been drinking all day, that his daughter got married in the morning to a French man, and that he drank champagne and a few bottles of wine at the reception and quite a few glasses of single malt thereafter.
Quite upset, the policeman proceeds to alco-test (breath test) him and asks the Englishman if he knows under French Law why he is going to be arrested.

The Englishman answers with humor,  No sir, I do not! But while we're asking questions, do you know that this is a British car and my wife is driving... on the other side?

James Kimo Rosen Good one Harmony, I am going to use that! I still have an old fashioned land-line. I don't even have caller I.D. or call waiting, in fact, if I am talking and someone calls they get a busy signal... I did get rid of my rotary dial phone, does that count?

James Kimo Rosen Stu, back in the day, the phone company actually owned the phones, you were charged a small monthly stipend. You didn't buy phones at Walmart or Costco back then... Man I'm sounding old.

Marjorie Dudley Brown We don't have cell service where we live. We do have a cell phone that we use when we go into town so that we can get those emergency calls to bring home icecream.

James Kimo Rosen Dave, I actually did use a cell phone back in the 1990's when i was publishing Alaska People magazine. However for my current lifestyle it's more of a hassle. I don't like talking on the phone, period.
