Back in the early 1960’s when I lived in Buffalo my father had season tickets to
the Buffalo Bills. As a lad, I remember going to the games at the old War memorial stadium and watching Jack Kemp! When Rich stadium opened in Orchard Park I had the privilege to watch OJ.

I left Buffalo in 1976, however, Buffalo and the Bills have never left me. The one thing I don’t understand as a former Buffalonian and now as an outsider
looking in is building a new stadium in a cold weather climate with one of the worst weather conditions in the NFL and not having a dome. The other thing that is mind-boggling is building a new stadium with 10,000 fewer seats when the NFL is more popular than ever and our franchised quarterback is now the face and talk of the NFL.

A domed stadium could have
multiple uses year-round. I know the argument of finances but remember it takes money to make money, just ask Jerry Jones owner of the most financially successful NFL franchise in history, the Dallas Cowboys.

To not build a domed stadium and to have 10,000 fewer seats with Josh Allen and the Bills being the talk of the NFL is ludicrous.
All I can say is what are the city planners and politicians smoking?
If I lived in Buffalo
I would be organizing protests against this insanity. Maybe Josh Allen and some of the multi-millionaire players can help the cause of the dome and more seats with generous donations? These could probably be tax deductible.

Otherwise, it looks like
Buffalo may remain the laughingstock of the NFL. I don’t want that, I don’t believe you want that, it’s not too late.

Call your Senators, Congressman, Mayor, City Council members, and Governor to tell them to quit smoking that whacky tobacky (sic)!

A dome? For the Bills mafia? Get real.
Out of towners and expats need not stick their noses in our Buffalo Bills business. A dome? In Buffalo? How would a dome look in Green Bay? Football is an outdoor sport. No domes!
No first amendment rights in the Buf I guess.
BTW, a dome would look great in Green Bay and Miami.
Shoulda been a dome downtown. Start the process now for the next Buffalo stadium in 30 years.
The city has no say about what happens in Orchard Park. Have yet to see anyone say what "events" could be held in a cavernous stadium outside of football season that would justify the cost.
Opinion from Hawaii for almost 50 years? Thank you for your comment.
Why not just use the domed stadium that we
spent millions on in Lancaster. They did build
it didn't they? Oh wait, they didn't. Excuuuse me.
I don't want one penny of corporate welfare going to that billionaire for building his stadium. To add insult to injury, they're not putting a dome on this stadium either? I don't know anyone who likes to be that cold. Regardless, I don't support the NFL. They charge too much for everything and being too cheap to pay cheerleaders when they're rolling in dough just shows everyone how greedy they are.
no... let the annual $212 Billion dollar NYS budget go NYC and Long Island as usual...you are too smart for that comment
The location of the new Stadium is fine. Downtown is not an option since the city will not add money to the project. However, as a season ticket holder i do agree that it should have been a dome.
The original stadium should have been built in Lancaster and domed. Thanks to corrupt county legislators the whole thing blew up and the stadium got built in Orchard Park on high ground in the snow belt without a dome. So why not make the same stupid mistake?
If the Lancaster dome was built, it would've been outdated and replaced by the early 90s.
Get in this century .
and in 1951 the Ohio Street bridge was deemed to be too small leading to the construction of the Skyway in 1955...any other current gripes?
Ex-pat and former Bills season ticket-holder here. Subsidizing private business with public money is wrong. Spend the money where it will do the most good. If you're going to build a stadium, domed is the way to go. And, sorry, Orchard Park is not the best location.
Its over..deal with it...and public money built or financed 80% of America
I love the all year round for other things comments.
Like what?
Concerts, Revivals, Trade Shows, Super Bowls... The list is endless be creative....
I'm guessing the engineers that came up with these renditions of the new stadium spent many hours considering a domed stadium but after looking at other domed stadiums of the NFLs other Northern teams, (Not many) they looked long and hard at the weather patterns for the past 30-40 years and could not reasonably foresee the amount of snowfall that a domed stadium would be required to withstand, and without that information could not properly design a rooftop that would be strong enough to safely withstand an unknown amount of snowfall.
Unless we want to try what they did with the Pontiac Silverdome!
....and in other news,...Bass Pro is still not coming to Buffalo...
In 2072 people will still be whining about a lack of a dome on the stadium. Hopefully by then people will have gotten over the Lancaster stadium that was never built.
Are you guys able to download it?
James Kimo Rosen, Yes! Great job.
Yup, it downloads!
Football is meant to be played outdoors and ideally on real grass, IHO.
