Local, state and national elections will take place this year (2012). Locally on Kaua'i there is going to be a tight race for county Prosecutor, between the woman pictured above (Shaylene Iseri Carvalho) who ran unopposed last election to having a tough opponent named Justin Kollar this year. This blog is an attempt at some "Saturday Night Live" type humor within the local political arena... Hope you enjoy! This blog appeared as an opinion article in the May 8, 2012 edition of the Kauai Garden Island Newspaper titled,"I had a dream!" however the local paper left out the last line, so here is the un-edited version! Enjoy... http://thegardenisland.com/news/opinion/mailbag/letters-for-tuesday-may/article_efc657c8-98e4-11e1-ae67-0019bb2963f4.html |
Justin Kollar, Iseri Carvalho's opponent was in the next block with a political campaign sign that read. "Justin time, vote for me by Default!"
Tim Bynum had a sign that read, "if Jay Furfaro is the chair, I want to be the couch!"
Talk story book-store owner Ed Justus had a sign that read; "And Justus for All!"
It should be an exciting election year, I am looking forward to seeing the local politicians do what they do best, waving at passing cars!
I always wave back with my favorite hand gesture!

I still wanna vote Kimo 4 Kouncil."
after Kimo's market resarch there is not a good chance of winning, therefore I am waiting until 2014 for the mayoral race, heck if I'm going to lose why not lose big! :D)
Douglas Dunn said via facebook;"My rice cooker and I will be glad to support whoever is recommended by locals James Kimo Rosen and Bettejo Dux.
Sending love from a distance (distant only in miles, not spirit)."
Doug, you need to move here and bring your wisdom and run yourself!
Bettejo Dux said via facebook; "I have the worst time trying to communicate with you. You are one of my favorite people. Wish you could join KIMO and me in one of our monthly laugh-ins." Me
Bettejo, i'm easy to contact, My blog, my facebook, my email, my phone...
Douglas Dunn said via facebook;"I am also easy to contact, via Facebook message, or my e-mail and website links provided in my info section.
Bettejo, I follow your blogs closely and have your book via Amazon.com.
I used to go to your site every day, but then I just set my preference as "following" (like an online subscription) so I get your blogs in my e-mail and don't go to your page like I used to. Kind of like having it catered!"
Doug, Bettejo has a hard time with the computer, I am hoping to teach her to cut and paste, and to respond to the proper posts, she arbitrillary talks on any post about whatever... However with her genius and charisma it doesn't really matter! :D)
Bettejo Dux said via facebook;"Boy oh boy can I make a mess. Genius and charisma, i'm walking on air."
