All Marriage Should Be Gay

One of my favorite TV shows is "Wheel of Fortune," I guess every person over 55 including myself loves 'Wheel of Fortune!?'

After the first round puzzle Pat Sajak introduces the players and they all say something about themselves. Usually something like I've been married for 10 years to my beautiful and awesome wife, who is also my best friend.  They always say positive things.  They say  gay (happy) stuff about spouses. They never say realities like," I've been married to my husband for 10 years and he cheats on me constantly and is abusing alcohol."

Why are the gays so excited  with the passage of the recent same sex marriage bill? With marriage comes divorce  more than 50 percent of the time. There are nasty custody battles when keiki and pets are involved.  Are they ready to be taken to the cleaners for infidelities, and are they ready for the heartbreak of a former spouse re-marrying another partner?

The traditional definition of "gay" according to my  oxford, dictionary thesaurus  is  light hearted, brightly coloured and  extremely happy. Therefore gay marriage is really just marriage.

The dilemma with 'gay' marriage is many take it wrong, since  all marriages should be gay,(happy) just as all divorces are either nasty, depressing , costly, or all of the above. Do you think  when a homosexual couple gets divorced they will seek a gay divorce? Probably not, since divorce is not a happy (gay) thing

Everything seems centered around the gays. It has become highly accepted and seems the new cool is to be gay.

Every evening newscast usually has something about gay marriage, civil unions or a new professional sports figure coming out of the closet. A recent headline  concerning the winter Olympics read,"
Winter Olympics off to colourful start as countries show they're not Putin up with anti-gay laws."
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/winter-olympics-colourful-start-countries-3123337

The recent  February 17th edition of Sports Illustrated featured on the cover Missouri state defensive lineman Michael Sam. Sam was  named a first-team All-American of the 2013 season and has publicly come out as gay. The college football star is eligible for the 2014 NFL Draft and is said to become the first active openly gay player in NFL  history. Players are being interviewed about it and the general consensus seems to bare that nobody really seems to care about his personal life. They are however concerned if he can play football, and from all indications he can.

...And last year  Sports Illustrated magazine featured Jason Collins, a gay NBA basketball player. The story had nothing to do with any sports achievement but just the fact he was a gay and came out of the closet.
It has become politically correct to accept gay anything and everything.  Nowadays It seems every sit-com, reality show feature movie and even the Olympics take into account the gay lifestyle.

I am opposed to same sex marriage, not for the same reasons as religious fundamentalists, but because I am against marriage in general. The hippie movement of the 1960's had it right with living together.  If you really love someone you don't need a license warranted by some politician, lawyer or religious leader, for obvious reasons.

It's gotten to be that one feels left out if your not  a homosexual or lesbian, or should I say gay? Not  that there's anything wrong with that.

Epilogue; (added for blog, not in newspaper column)
The only problem I foresee is showering after practice and games. It would be like a straight guy getting to shower with 52 naked woman...

comment from garden Island Newspaper;"But don't you now it? There is not the one that is gay...there's many that are gay and many gays have different opinions . NOT EVERY GAY HAS THE SAME OPINION! There's gay that are liberal, conservative green, promisk, relationship type whatever... DON'T GENERALIZE! And I always wanted to get married to marry my partner ...
amd there's gays taht never thought about it or want to get married. There's no typical homosexual ...there is no typical heterosexual... but why you should support gay marriage , also if you do not want to get married is that I also support ur right to not get married ...Some people(gays) want to get married , some people(gays) don't wanna get married. You can support things , even if you don't want to do such things in ur life. I've never drunk alcohol ...seriously!But I support the right to drink alcohol. I'm non smoker but I support the rights of smokers to smoke everywhere they want, I'm not using drugs but I support the legalization of mariuhana etc... You can live a liberal private life but for society you want a conservative life ...you can be conservative in ur private life but support liberal issues for society..."

comment from garden Island Newspaper; "Kimo this isn't really particularly funny and calling gay people "the gays" is highly offensive. Not sure how any editor let this get by but maybe go back to writing about food trucks or something. Hard to imagine a modern paper prints this."

comment from garden Island Newspaper;"While there's nothing wrong with Kimo's opposition to marriage in general, he misses the point. Marriage is good for society - if the couple plans to have, adopt or raise children. Marriage also protects property rights between the couple; and only legal married individuals can assist a partner in a private medical decision.
What Kimo misses is ALL people should have the RIGHT to marry if they wish. Like him, they may wish not to marry. This is freedom.
But America does not tolerate discrimination. It's that simple. Support Marriage - and Support Marriage Equality"

"Good article Kimo. In my world of social media marketing, we call your headline "link bait" because for sure I am going to read something with startling title like that.
Personally, I'm super happy with my marriage to Ray Gordon. I agree I've seen some ugly divorces."

Hmmm. I think marriage (legal) has more to do with protecting people's rights than love could ever do.
It may have started over property rights but has evolved to include people's rights... Especially children.

Martini, I can see you scratching your chin as you say that, good point...

He's going to be up and down on this issue of why he announced this. Ppl don't care and as long as he keeps his private life private, we will all be able to live another day with this admission, I think.

Martini, wouldn't that be incest? ;D)

Well at the beginning it's was Adam and Eve and God said go and multiply after what they have done ( temptation ).. And now Adam and Steve how can they multiply.. I guest it's another mystery of Gods creations.. It's love one another that's the way I see it.. Even if it's man to man or woman to woman..I've seen a lot gays living together happily ever after and one left behind and I can see the love (gay). Awaits for God to take Him or her away and be with the person he or she loves.. I just wash my hands over this marriage between gays..it's only a paper to me.. Love that counts and they have a heart that beats and it happens to be the same gender.. It can happen.. We should not judge..
