'Great politician, an Oxymoron‏..." 'James "Kimo" Rosen'

Happy Memorial day and God bless America!

Great politician, an oxymoron‏

Great politician is somewhat an oxymoron like jumbo shrimp, how can a politician be great. There are exceptions but are few and far between.

It's that time of year again where the narcissistic professional sign waivers come out of the closets and seem to block and occupy most busy sidewalks and intersections on the cosmic Garden island. These people hope to call themselves politicians come the next election.

There's the famous joke, "How do you know when a politician is lying?" "As soon soon as they start talking." What politician hasn't lied? I cannot think of one. That doesn't mean i dislike every politician, it just means  to keep your nose on the trail and eye on the back wind. A phrase I lerarne d  while hunting in Alaska.

I like to tell every potential political candidate I meet that I am voting for them even if I do not intend to. I'm not really lying, I ma just playing politician with  a potential politician.

I always ask politician why is everything so expensive on Kauai, the best answer I ever heard was "In spite of the cost of living, it is still popular." Then I to find out the politician was quoting someone else, J.L. Peter.

After the elections there  is no longer the need to block sidewalks or wave from their favorite street corner. For the hand wavers who win  county council seats,  it's now time to attend to their part time job which pays $56,000 a year, (an extra $7,000 for the chair) $500 a month car allowance, the best available health insurance known to  man and woman-kind and  free bus service for unlimited travel island wide of which most county employees never use.

Enjoy the hand-waving competition for it will soon be over, and make sure to vote for your favorite hand waiver this coming November. I still like the Miss America wave da best!

In spite of it all remember to re-elect nobody unless there a somebody.

via Facebook,

"Luv the article Jim, I always believed that Politicians are made, not born. They manage to get a machine of sorts behind them, pity the poor soul with no $$ or union backing them. I dare say the founding fathers would roll over in their graves, they left England which had a Monarchy, it was never meant to be a Career., serve, then leave."

Speaking of politicians, It's so cold in Washington, D.C., that politicians have their hands in their own pockets.

Many are very Loyal to their party.I look @ what the candidate stands for or has voted on, to make my decisions.I won't go in to specifics , I had my mind made up on a certain candidate but when I saw how they voted regarding lowering Soc. Sec. Benefits, I changed my mind.

You can't win the ideological arguments because people cling to their corners no matter what. Start a dialogue on the things that really matter to people in their everyday lives - the things that require people on all sides to come to a consensus. You will see right through politicians in how they respond to things that people really care about. — From the Ralph Nader play book.

They all promise change and very rarely deliver...Politicians run the country yet anybody even a high school drop out can run for political office. There is no standard, lawyers have the bar, Doctors have 8 years of school, an internship and residency before becoming a full fledged doctor. Politicians need no education or prior experience, it's usually on the job training... I guess that's a subject for another blog..

One common thread I notice is that many especially Senators are millionaires the perks are incentive to buy oneself into office, lol

The richer , the better. The rich can buy ads, ads are expensive, usually the candidate with the most money wins, not all the times, but most.

Nice post James, I shared adding we have an anti-billboard law why re they not enforcing it? This trying to distract drivers is both illegal and dangerous!

KimoRosen said...

agreed! Thanks for sharing, spreading the wealth! ;D)

James you Nailed it! In the upcoming mid-term election vote out all incumbents, and anyone that is trying to switch offices such as from House to Senate. Cumulative Term Limits would help stop this rampant misuse of power and public money.

Also we have a anti-billboard law why is it not enforced at sign waivers which are trying to distract drivers, it is both illegal and dangerous? But then who would see the incumbents sign waivers? Sort of self-serving I think!
