The magic of the internet
I had been thinking of a friend that I grew up with back in the 1960' that I lost touch with 40 yrs ago. We went our separate ways after college and I hadn't heard from her since.
I decided to search for her with all the technology we have today and was successful in finding her on Linked In. I sent her a quick message and we exchanged phone numbers. It was so interesting and enjoyable to hear what she had done with her life so far and what her accomplishments were. We talked for a long time and exchanged family pics from the past. Turns out she doesn't live far from my cousin in Maryland and we will be trying to hook up this summer when she returns for our high school reunion.
It was amazing the recall we had on names and places we had gone to in our teens and the reminiscing was sweet.
The internet can be used for many bad reasons these days but in some cases it can prove to be a very useful tool to rekindle friendships. It is more than amazing....

P.S. just last week I recognized a friend of yours who liked your blog and realized she was the sister of a long lost friend of mine, small world. The internet can be great, but be careful...
Great reading! I have refreshed many old friendships on Facebook. It's been great to keep in touch with the friends close by too, like Judy! We had a nice lunch today scheduled on Facebook.
My life evolves around the internet. I use Facebook more than the phone. In fact i have become phone intolerant.
I hear ya......
