Aloha Readers,
Hotels and motels when at capacity and filled will hang a 'no vacancy' sign on their doors. What happens when an Island, city or even a country is full, should they be able to hang a "No Vacancy" sign too?
Nothing is what it was, it's time for a change. Maybe it's time for a timeout, to regroup and take time to make things pono, better...

No Vacancy at our borders and right here at home

Blog #2038~Kimo's world #285

It may be time to hang them!
“No vacancy signs” not only at our country’s Mexican border but right here at home in the 50th state.

Illegal immigration is at an all-time high. U.S. officials expect a million additional illegal immigrants this fiscal year, as the Border Patrol
is currently apprehending up to 4,000 a day. Most will claim asylum, entitling them to government benefits costing the US taxpayer billions.
Most illegal immigrants in US receive government benefits, costing taxpayers billions:
https://www.foxnews.com/us/the-cost-of-illegal-immigration-migrants-cost-us-taxpayers-billions-a-year
Illegal alien apprehensions are way up from last year.
Mexico is doing very little for us at the Southern Border.
DEMS IN CONGRESS MUST ACT NOW!

Hawaii homelessness is at an all-time high along with out of control record tourism.
Many local's can no longer
afford the high cost of living in Hawaii because of the high cost of real estate escalated by tourism and out of state home sales to wealthy people forcing rental prices to all-time highs.

Landowners no longer rent by the month, when they can rent one night as a vacation rental for what they may bring in for a months rental.
Many states are said to give their homeless and poor one-way tickets to Hawaii to assume liability for their down and out population.  Hawaii already has an out of control house-less and homeless crisis of their own.

Now on top- of everything else, the good and bad news, the double-edged sword--so to speak. Southwest Airlines is finally flying to the Aloha state bringing airfares to their lowest in many years. This has prompted many to finally bring on their bucket list trip to come to Hawaii, an already over-stressed and over-populated tourist destination stressing every infrastructure in the book.

It's time to do what hotels and motels do when they can no longer accommodate any more guests, it's time to display the 'NO Vacancy' sign at our Airport's and on every travel destination website where vacation packages are sold.

Look what happened after the Kaua'i North shore floods and the road to Ke'e beach was shut down for a
year.  The beach returned to its turquoise color, the reefs were restored, turtles returned in vast numbers, along with fish, and the people living on the North shore trusted each other and became neighborly again.

There needs to be a time to hang a 'No Vacancy' sign, time out is needed to regroup and re-organize. Change is needed.

In memory
Her name is Lori Gilbert-Kaye.
She was praying at synagogue today. Then hate entered. Lori was shot and killed. She is the one reported fatality at the tragedy in Poway. In that one moment, a universe was snuffed out.
When Lori turned 60, she posted this photo of herself.
She wrote
"Fearless at 60! As I enter a new decade, I am full of "gratitude" & thankfulness for the many blessings in my life. As I said on my 40th & 50th birthdays:
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but BY the moments that take our breath away."
We mourn.
Lori Gilbert-Kaye. She leaves behind a daughter, a husband, and so many moments that we today cherish, never to come again.
May her memory be a blessing.
"My heartfelt condolences for Lori's friends and family
and pray to an end to all these hate crimes."

Aloha Readers,
The hatred for President Trump from the far left, the New world order and the mainstream media has not let up since he entered

office. It is remarkable all the accomplishments our President has accomplished with all the opposition from every corner. This blog is not about his accomplishments but rather about all his supporters including, doctors, lawyers, clergy and you, that still haven't yet come out of 'The Donald' closet.

Many still in the closet about Trump

Blog #2037~Kimo's world's #284

It’s over two years since PresidentTrump has taken office.  His accomplishments are
remarkable for being in office for so little time and considering all the obstruction from the left, mainstream media and the New world order. This article is not about 45’s accomplishments but rather about how many Americans truly support him.

Many professionals including some doctors and lawyers will still not publicly claim to support Trump in fear of repercussions and job security.  I know of Rabbi’s
and pastors whom in big numbers support Trump but remain in the closet since they do not want to lose support and tithings from the left.  I know of newspaper publishers and editors that pretend to be liberals but are conservative in fear of losing readership and advertisers.  I even know left-wing politicians that want to make America great again.

What I find truly ironic since becoming a conservative and Trump supporter, my fellow
right-wingers are shy to unite and bond to our common cause. I know many that are Trump supporters that have left me high and dry to defend myself when I was the lone scapegoat to defend our President, they all stood there like deer in the headlights. That's because the person sitting next to you, your buddy, that you believe hates 45, think again.  They just want peace and do not want to cause a raucous.

So, yes, there are still a huge amount of closet Trump supporters who haven’t publicly come out.
The pollsters will tell you Trump’s numbers are down, they also told you Hillary would win
by a landslide, the Mueller report would prove collusion and that Jussie Smollett was attacked by Right-wing Trump supporters.
Don’t believe the pollsters, the 'New world order,' or the 'Fake news media.' Trump is on his way to another victory and more than likely a landslide this time around.
It's OK to come out publicly my friends, join me, feel the freedom, come out of The 'Donald closet!' Trump is winning!

Come election day, just remember, I told you so!

P.S.
An updated and highly refined  version of this blog was published in the Garden Island News on 09-14-19, titled, "It’s OK to have pride about Trump"

2020 is around the corner and it’s almost time for another presidential election. President Trump’s accomplishments are remarkable for being in office for so little time and considering all the obstruction from the left, mainstream media and the new world order. This commentary is not about 45’s accomplishments but rather about how many Americans truly support him.

Many professionals, including some doctors and lawyers, will still not publicly claim to support Trump, in fear of repercussions and job security. I know of rabbis and pastors who in large numbers support Trump, however, remain in the closet since they do not want to lose support and tithings from the left. I know of publishers and editors who pretend to be liberals but are conservative in fear of losing readership and advertisers. I even know left-wing politicians and hipsters that want to make America great again.

What I find truly ironic since becoming a conservative and Trump supporter is that my fellow right-wingers are shy to unite and bond to our common cause. I know many who are Trump supporters who have left me high and dry to defend myself when I was the lone scapegoat to defend our president. They all stood there like deer in the headlights.

I have a close friend who is Republican who lives in a liberal community with many gay people. Her friends do not know she’s a Trump supporter, and if they did, they would most likely distance themselves. There are many Trumpsters afraid to speak out since the Democrats are still sore about losing an election three years ago and believe only in free speech for the left and bullying and demonizing the right.

There is talk in Hollywood to publicly expose and blacklist all in the film industry who contribute to and support President Trump and print their names for all to see and hope they never work again. This is an invasion of free speech and privacy and looks like McCarthyism.

So, yes, there are still a huge amount of closet Trump supporters who haven’t publicly come out.

The pollsters will tell you Trump’s numbers are down, they also told you Hillary would win by a landslide, the Mueller report would prove collusion and that Jussie Smollett was attacked by right-wing Trump supporters.

Trump could find a cure for cancer and AIDS and the mainstream media and far left would find fault and not acknowledge it in a positive spin.

Don’t believe the pollsters, the new world order or the fake news media. Trump is on his way to another victory and more than likely a landslide this time around.

Trump fills sports arenas for rallies with sellout crowds of 20,000-plus, with people in lines outdoors watching on monitors. While, in contrast, most Dems have a hard time filling a high school auditorium for a rally. In fact, at a recent rally in Iowa, Democratic presidential contender Bill de Blasio had 15 people at a rally. Trump has more people than that standing in line to use the restrooms at his rallies.

You may be surprised that your neighbor, your co-worker or even your liberal unko or auntie may just be on the Trump train.

It’s OK to come out publicly with pride about Trump. Come out of the Donald closet! Trump is winning!

We are the silent majority. Don’t be afraid to show the left and world who you are.

Come election day America will continue on its voyage to be even greater than great again!

I do not like modern day politics. The hate, the witch hunts, he said, she said's, the lies, the deceits has ruined many lives.
The 'Me too' movement has everyone, not only politicians walking on pins and needles. You must be careful on your public image, don't show too much affection, empathy or love towards your friends or fellow Americans or you may find yourself a victim of the fake news media or a nasty witchhunt...

Tulsi Gabbard may have a hard time running for president, after all, she is from Hawaii, and people who live in Hawaii develop the 'Aloha spirit' which means a lot of hugs and kisses.
Tulsi has one thing going for her, she's a woman, a woman can get away with touching, hugging and kissing, whereas a guy will be called out on it as if he's a career criminal or a rapist in this new 'Me too' era as recently seen with Joe Biden.

It saddens me that people can no longer show affection.   I am not a Biden supporter, in fact, just the contrary, however, give the man a break, This man lost his first wife and 13-month-old daughter in an auto accident and recently lost
another son to brain cancer. I believe it's because of the empathy and love he received from these tragedies is why he is loving towards others, and although he is not from Hawaii or Kamaaina has shown an aloha spirit, which many have looked at as offensive?

It doesn't matter who you support, this holier than thou attitude of showing empathy and love towards
your friends, neighbors, political supporters and bringing incidents up from 30, 40 and even 50 years ago needs to stop. The witch hunts by both major political parties must end.

Just imagine if national politics took place on the Hawaii stage, with, hugs, kisses, and leis? Mueller would be busy year round and the fake news media would be like kids in a candy store.

Hawaii residents running for national
office may have to tone down their aloha spirit in this new era of "Me too" This is a sad statement that the world is pushing away politicians that truly care.

Just imagine running for political office and being called out on a lie someone made up about you that happened 30 years ago or being called out for trying
to comfort and showing a fellow American some empathy? What politician is next to be witch-hunted? You can be certain the fake news media will do all they can to ruin more lives, it's what they enjoy, their ratings soar, and how they make money.

Aloha Readers,
It is a disgrace what recently happened when tickets went on sale for a pre-season NFL game featuring the LA Rams vs. the Dallas Cowboys at Aloha stadium in
Honolulu. This hasn't happened in 26 years and was an opportunity for families and our youth to see a real NFL game and also an opportunity for the
LA Rams to help rebrand themselves after a move from St. Louis to Los Angeles looking for a new fan base around the country.
Hawaii residents were excited to be able to see a real-life NFL game, even though it's pre-season, you'd never know it by the response.
What happened to all those reasonable tickets being sold at $30.00 each is criminal, disgusting and disgraceful. Scalpers within hours bought out the whole stadium and now some tickets are reselling for as high as $5,000 per ticket. Remember this is pre-season, not regular season, not the playoffs, not the Super-Bowl.
All I can say to the scalpers is karma is a bitch and an expression I hate to say but, "Shame on you!"

Hawaii is jonesing for an  NFL franchise

Blog #2035~Kimo's world's #282

Stop the madness

It's been reported that tickets for the pre-season NFL football game between the Los Angeles
Aloha Stadium
Rams and Dallas Cowboys at Aloha Stadium on Saturday, August 17th are going for as high as 5,000.00 a ticket. Tickets originally listed as $30.00 per seat were scooped up by scalpers after only being on the market for a few hours. It's really a shame this practice is accepted.

Spoiler alert, this is not a playoff game or the Super-bowl, it's pre-season where many of the elite starters will not even play in fear they may be injured for the start of the regular-season.

There's a good chance the stars of both teams,
Dallas's QB, Dak Prescott, and LA  Ram's QB, Jared Goff, will see very little, to no action.

I always preferred the Pro-Bowl when it was in Hawaii. the Pro-bowl has the best of the best. I find it ironic that Pro-bowl tickets are always dirt cheap. People say, they don't play hard, but you see the stars. Last pro bowl I went to, tickets sold for under $20.00 each.

Before moving to Hawaii when I was the publisher of Alaska People magazine, we used
Kimo Rosen and Buffalo Bills QB,
Doug Flutie on the sidelines of
Aloha stadium at the 1998 Pro-Bowl
to get press passes to the Pro Bowl and take a yearly pilgrimage to write a short story and photograph the event for the magazine.  The theme of the story was always since Alaska like Hawaii did not have a NFL team of their own, and since Honolulu was only a 5-hour non-stop flight from Anchorage---we billed it as Alaska's largest suburb hosts Pro-bowl.

The NFL always granted us
2 press passes as long as we wrote a story and had it published! At the same time, Aloha airlines and Outrigger resorts were advertiser clients, therefore we had advertising contracts we used in contra- trade to cover airfare and lodging for the annual sojourn and business expense.

NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell needs to take heed, Hawaii residents are crazy enough to pay 5-K for a pre-season ticket. Hawaii is prime for an NFL franchise
even though thousands of miles away from the closest competitor. If nothing else, it's time to bring the Pro-Bowl back permanently to Hawaii!
Hawaii needs an NFL franchise, along with a power ball lottery... I know, If I don't like it here, I can move.
I am not asking for me, I am asking for the state, for the revenue it will bring.

I sit here scratching my head, as people are crazy enough to pay $5,000.00 for a pre-season ticket to
a meaningless game.

For all those who just paid $5,000 for a ticket, I've got some awesome timeshares for sale, and some swamp land in Florida you may be interested in...
