"The new cool is to be gay..." 'Obama Da Dog'

Obama Da Dog is one Gay ( Happy and Giddy) creature, not
that there's anything wrong with that...

Everything seems centered around the gays. It has become highly accepted and the new cool is to be gay.

Every evening newscast usually has  something about gay marriage, civil unions or gay pride parades.

A recent cover of Sports Illustrated magazine featured Jason Collins a gay NBA basketball player. The story had nothing to do with any sports achievement but just the fact he was a gay and came out of the closet. Maybe the front cover of Cosmopolitan but Sports Illustrated?

My dictionary still defines gay as  light hearted, giddy and brightly coloured and when two men are having sexual relations it's anything but gay, but just a homosexual act.

I think most people agree with me, however it has become politically correct to accept gay anything and everything. People are afraid to speak their minds in fear of being labeled old fashioned, homophobic or even a bigot.

I am opposed to gay marriage, however at the same time I do not believe in heterosexual marriage either.  Marriage is defined as  a union between a man and woman, therefore  marriage cannot be a homosexual thing.

Gay people need to  have their own platform with all the same rules of marriage and divorce.

If  homosexuals and lesbians want to marry they need to come up with a new word, I have suggested in the past, "Garriage," the 'G' is from Gay and when you combing the 'G' from Gay and take out the 'M' in Marriage it becomes "Garriage."

It's gotten to be that one feels left out if your not  a homosexual or lesbian or should I say gay? Not  that there's anything wrong with it.

OK, you still with me?

The new cool is to let each human being be who or what they are.

Those who are not attracted to others of the same gender have no desire to be anything other than what we are.

But those who are secure in who and what we are do not feel threatened by who or what any other person is, and THAT is the "new cool."

Yes, I've known for for years, it's just cool to be gay now, not that there's anything wrong with that.

After years of discrimination & being forced in the closet, now is the time to celebrate the freedom to be whomever you are & to love whomever you really love.

All I'm saying is if your not gay you feel like like the odd one out.

Only the fundamentalists discriminate, and they call themselves gods children !!!

Kimo — saying that if you're not gay, i.e., if you're not part of a minority of 5% - 10% of the population, you feel like the odd one out is like the majority Christians claiming to be persecuted. Allowing others to feel included as is their human right should not make anyone else feel "odd one out."

well to me, it feels like a reverse discrimination, especially in the media, just saying...

Doug, did you read my blog about professional basketball Player Jason Collins coming out of the closest and making the front cover of Sports illustrated, not because he performed a great sports move, but just because he is gay? if you missed the blog here it is. My point being, fine be gay, and if your gay or straight and perform well be credited, but not just for being gay?

Douglas Dunn Kimo, contrary to your assertion that the media fawns over gay people, the opposite is true, especially in sports, where there have likely been many gay athletes
but none had the courage to openly acknowledge who and what they are.

The act of courage in being first, in an environment often hostile to such openness, does merit applause. That said, I do not share your original assertion that it made one single straight pro basketball player feel like the "odd one out.

Maybe not, but the cover of sports Illustrated for just for being gay, c,mon Doug? It's called reverse discrimination, look I don't care if there guy is gay or straight, what I care about the cover of sports magazines is someone who has done something remarkable in sports. last year Jeremy Lin a Korean Professional NBA basketball player made news not because he's the only Korean in the league but because he was dominant in helping his team win games. That's my point, I stand by it. If Jason Collins had done something remarkable and is gay also, so be it. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/08/sports/basketball/jeremy-lin-has-burst-from-nba-novelty-act-to-knicks-star.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
