Publishers note;
Aloha Readers,
I very much hope that someday very soon that the media will be held legally and financially responsible for the hate and
division that they willfully spread. Just like the high school kids that they tried to make villains out of, they ran this hate-filled lie without even attempting to verify it.
The media and Democratic leaders were quick to jump to conclusions over the Jussie Smollet
case without any fact-checking.
Enclosed is a sampling of what some of the left wing leaders said;
“This was an attempted modern-day lynching” - Kamala Harris
“The vicious attack on Jussie Smollett was a modern-day lynching” - Corey Booker
"This is so heartbreaking. @JussieSmollett, you are not alone we are with you" - Hawaii's own presidential candidate, Tulsi Gabbard
“The racist, homophobic attack on Jussie Smollett is an affront to our humanity” - Nancy Pelosi
They were all the judge, executioner, and jury.
Our country is better than this! MAGA!

I never heard of Jussie Smollett or even the Fox TV show 'Empire' until the alleged hate crime was reported to the police and the media by the actor himself.
By now most everyone knows what was reported, "Smollett told authorities he was attacked early January 29 by two men wearing red "MAGA hats" and who were yelling out racial and homophobic slurs." He said one attacker put a rope around his neck and poured an unknown chemical substance on him."
Now it is believed, Smollett paid two men to orchestrate an assault on him that he reported late last month. Those two men were Nigerian brothers, one of whom he knew and appeared on his TV show, Empire. The brothers are reporting they were paid $3,500 to stage the attack.
This is believed to be the first time an American was scammed by two Nigerians.
I knew as soon as I read this story the first time it was a hoax. The liberal media wanted so badly to believe it was true so they could further divide and push their agenda.
Donald Trump once said, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity!” It’s somewhat ironic that Jussie is following in the footsteps of his nemesis and adversary and seeming to be using him more as a mentor.
So much for Michelle Obama's statement of "When they go low, we go high."
This is how a failing actor who is written of a TV show gains international attention. It’s ironic that Smollet became a household name over a blotched failed attack against President Trump and his supporters. He needs to pay for this blotched homophobic, racist attack as if he were the perpetrator himself.
Mr. Smollett's name now lives on in infamy.

Nation's Liberals Devastated After Learning Hate Crime Didn't Actually Happen
U.S.—The nation’s liberals were struck by a devastating blow this week after finding out a hate crime, reported by Empire actor Jussie Smollet, didn’t actually happen.
“I needed this to be true,” said liberal columnist Hanna Spalding. “When I first heard the news of this attack, I was filled with so much hope. I felt so validated. Then that was taken away. Now I just want to cry into my pillow.”
The attack had been called “a modern-day lynching” by democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker but after Chicago police reported that the “trajectory of the investigation” into Smollet’s story had shifted, Smollet was stripped of his victim status. Booker became irate, phoning the Chicago police chief and shouting repeatedly, “Check it again! CHECK IT AGAIN!”
After some deep breathing exercises, Booker spoke with reporters. “How are we supposed to intentionally turn the nation against each other and exploit these divisions for political power if people won’t commit a simple hate crime once in a while?”
Candlelight vigils are being arranged in liberal cities across the country as millions mourn the loss of one of the most potentially divisive crimes in the last decade. “There was so much promise there. Now there’s just emptiness,” said one mourner in Berkley, CA.
“While Smollet’s attack may have been a hoax, our emotions have undergone a modern-day lynching,” said activist Andrea Jones at a vigil in Chicago. “If you think about it, this is even worse than if the crime had actually happened. A lot of people put a lot of hope into Smollet’s story. Our expectations have been violently assaulted. Yesterday we thought one man had been attacked. Today, our narrative is the one in a hospital bed, sucking Jell-O through a straw and fighting for its life.”

Good one!!
There’s one episode left in the season of his show and they just cut his scenes, apparently. I’m sure he’ll not be back next year. Dude totally shot himself in the foot.
Ron, The 'fake news media' is slow to chastise any member of the far left, however, if a member of the right even says one wrong word their career is over as were the circumstances surrounding Roseanne...
and the Oscar goes to:
Jussie Smollett, “Empire Strikes Back”
Christine Blasey Ford, “Fast Times at Georgetown Prep”
Look what the 'Good Reverand,' Al Sharpton said on twitter!
"The reported hate attack on my friend and brother, Jussie Smollett is despicable and outrageous. The guilty must face the maximum!

How come nobody is boycotting the show "Empire?" And demanding that Jussie Smollet be exiled like Roseanne Barr?
Nice article , covered all the facts, SCOOP
Mahalo, Scoop! ;-)

I know we can count on you to find compelling issues to comment on, Kimo, and this story is certainly no exception. Thank you for your analysis and insight. Psst . . . and this is just between you and me . . . I hear there’s an opening at the National Enquirer in their stories-nobody-gives-a-hoot-about department. Maybe you should check into it.

This is how you know a publicity stunt worked when Kauai starts talking about it..
What he did was way worse than what Roseanne did..
I just want to see if he’s career ends or not.
Roseanne made a tweet this guy tried to start a race war.
People got to wake up and see what side is the real messed up side

Jeez, Kimo, relax already! We all know you like to write quirky, occasionally semi-humorous letters, but maybe you should stick to local issues, that is, things that actually matter to people here on Kauai. Amazing how you would try to turn this bizarre incident into some sort of liberal media hoax, and you even dragged Michelle Obama’s name into it. Is that because she’s African-American or just because she is an incredibly intelligent, well-spoken and classy women? You also mention trying to “gain attention”…check yourself out some time!

Kimo, you should check before you write a letter to the public. The phrase “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” was coined by PT Barnum a hundred years ago and has become the rallying cry of celebrities and wanna be celebrities ever since. It has nothing to do with Donald Trump. Of course it’s the “celebrities” among us who love the phrase, thrive on attention, and continue to do things that get them said attention regardless of good taste, ie nip slips, clothing malfunctions that are staged, making stupid political pronouncements, getting arrested for DUI just when the public stops paying them any attention,, and on and on. Of course, those who use such tactics are a lower form of human trying to cheat their way to fame, and, as we’ve all observed over the years, they are overwhelmingly Democrats.

Who cares what you think, Mr. Rosen?
Get a job and get to work helping us to rid ourselves of the BIG threat to our democracy, Donald Trump. Despite what Fox News says, the “liberal” media has it right on this score. LOCK HIM UP!

The lumping together of large numbers of people, along with the subsequent subscribing to them of bad, evil, or ignorant behavior, is one of the ongoing failures of our society. Hopefully, the truth of what occurred in this instance will eventually be revealed, and the individuals responsible held to account. In the meantime, associating this alleged bad behavior with “liberals”, the “media”, or Michelle Obama seems more opportunistic than informative. America increasingly suffers from the overuse of divisive “cheapshots”, lobbed from all sides. Most of us do it from time to time. We should resist the temptation.

So Mr Rosen, do you have exclusive access to the facts in this case that are not available to the rest of us? Interesting how you seem to know everything about what really happened.
guitarplayer February 20, 2019 2:37 pm Reply
Oh for crying out loud. Of course what Smollet did was absolutely horrible and he should be punished but to insinuate that his act is somehow indicictive of how all liberals think is ludicrous. It also does not automatically make Trump some sort of respectable human being.
Mr. Rosen’s letter is an excellent example of how small minded thinking is dividing the country.

This storyline has closed out, sidestepped something or a bunch of somethings while everyone is focused on an innocent until proven guilty man. Isnt that how it is supose to be? Oh my bad, you all are probably well aware, on Kauai and that we have a two-tiered judiciary that has Zero jurisdiction.

Up to now, republicans have pretty much cornered the market of getting arrested in men’s rooms violating their anti-gay values, or buying an abortion for their mistress, or being a serial trophy marriage phony like Don the Con; but, now, Don the Con has kicked that door wide open. His leadership can absolve you of up to 6000 “misiformations” (we call em lies) in two years. You can have a phony January tan, tinted orange, with white goggle circles, without any stigma. When your fellow republicans ask you, across the Bar-B-Que, why your family is in bankruptcy, you can say: “I went with my gut” and bask in the applause! Why, you can even become a “Russian Asset” and pick up a little money on the side (like ebay)!

It’s so funny, Kimo! You have just demonstrated the reason these liberal whiners who post here, are called “Snowflakes”! They are more concerned that their liberal media is once again revealing their political biases, vs. journalism, than the criminal behavior of the person they rallied in support of in their pursuit of identity politics. Love it!
Hey, Pete! Here’s a partial list of your Democrat miscreants: Al Franken, John Conyers, Bob Filner, Raul Bocanegra, Dan Schoen, Tony Mendoza, Ira Silverstein, Steve Lebsock, Anthony Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, David Wu, Kwame Kilpatrick, John Edwards, Bill Clinton, David Peterson, Antonio Villaraigosa, Marc Dann, Paul J. Morrison, Gary Condit, Tim Mahoney, Roosevelt Dobbins, Neil Goldschmidt, Mel Reynolds, Brock Adams, Barney Frank, Gary Hart, Gerry Studds, Fred Richmond, John Andrew Young, Allan Howe, Wayne Hays, and Sam Adams. I’m sure I’ve missed other notables. So, let’s just say both parties have morally ugly people in them.
(If you don’t recognize some of the names, ask your favorite liberal media about why they did little to cover their stories.)
