We can now go into retail stores,
restaurants, and even banks for the first time in well over two years without wearing masks. Noticing folks without their masks is almost like seeing someone in their birthday suit.

I actually want to turn my
head in embarrassment when I run into friends inside business establishments without their masks. I actually saw my bank teller's face for the first time in 26 months, I told her I must have hit the jackpot!

I try leaving my home without my mask and upon leaving get that uneasy feeling like one does
when embarking on a trip and you know you forgot something and can’t quite put your finger on what it is and nine out of ten times it’s usually your toothbrush- however this time it’s your COVID mask.

COVID masks have become
our security blankets, they are the Teddy bears for adults. They bring us security and the feeling of comfort, justified or not. The mask has become the underwear for the face.

Masks have become part
of everyday attire and like anybody's undergarments, some will choose to use them and others will prefer to go commando, and presto the masks are off!

Why go commando? “Going commando” used to be a way of saying that you're not wearing underwear.
The term referred to elite soldiers that were ready to fight at a moment's notice.

Going commando to me in the new post COVID era means not wearing a mask.
The old debate for guys used
to be boxers or jockeys? The lack of face masks is like the face going commando! Sure it feels great, but at the same time, it feels like I’m doing something inappropriate?

The mask mandate may have
been lifted however, like it or not masks are here to stay. No matter which way you go the fashion industry has a new product to profit from.

The commando in chief. LOL!
It’s our call!
The You is COVID and at least for now, it looks like we won!

Two thumbs up meme
We’re not wearing masks here much anymore but I do wear one at work and still in the grocery stores…
They just lifted the mask mandate last week in Hawaii, we were the last state to do so. Our economy survives on tourism because of that, I'd say mask-wearing is split about 50-50 at this point.
Masks as under ware? They have been our outer ware or our oughta ware!
Harmony, It’s called tongue-in-cheek.🤙

I like going commando. I like the feeling and the freedom I get. Oh, and I don’t wear a mask anymore either.

Kimo: we won? Tell that to my 4 good friends, my wife’s uncle, and my best friend’s brother. Oh yea, and the 6 million other folks who also died horrible deaths. From COVID.
Andy, You and your wokeness are the reasons many of the great comedians will no longer perform on college campuses anymore. Most of my writings are tongue-in-cheek.
I too have a dear friend who passed away from COVID, The gist of my article is we must move on, but obviously, you just can't comprehend a simple and fun editorial.
Try to relax and laugh... It's healing.
