My Cousin

My cousin, a perpetual bachelor, owned one of the biggest and fastest-growing businesses in Miami, a furniture store. I convinced him that he needed to take a trip to Italy to visit a manufacturer and check out the merchandise himself. And maybe he could meet an available young Italian women.

As he was checking into a hotel he struck up an acquaintance with a beautiful young lady. She only spoke Italian and he only spoke English--neither understood a word the other spoke. So he took out a pencil and a notebook and drew a picture of a taxi. She smiled, nodded her head and they went for a ride in the park. Later, he drew a picture of a table in a restaurant with a question mark and she nodded. So they went to dinner.

After dinner he sketched two dancers and she was delighted. They went to several nightclubs, drank champagne, danced and had a glorious evening. It had gotten quite late when she motioned for the pencil and drew a picture of a four-poster bed.

He was dumbfounded. To this day he says that he's never been able to understand how she knew he was in the furniture business.

The popularity of woman's porn becoming main stream with the new controversial movie '50 Shades of Grey' has prompted me  on thinking of  publishing a book titled, "50 Shades of the Exotic and Erotic Sunrise."

'50 Shades of the Exotic and Erotic Sunrise' will be all about the addicting sensual qualities and many artistic aspects of  colors, feelings and freedoms felt from the Sunrise.

Many are claiming '50 Shades of Grey' is porn form a woman's perspective, allegedly making it more main stream acceptable than  "regular porn?"  Scientists believe women are turned on emotionally and verbally while men are turned on visually. With that in mind, porn is porn, whether visual in film, photographs or written in a novel. 

No matter what your opinion, one thing is for sure, it's all over the news and social media giving the film  free advertising and promotional value  which will only enhance this monetary and  controversial subject.

Believe it or not according to the Washington Post, sex injuries in the United States had  doubled with the original novella  release of '50 Shades of Grey.  

True fact; hospitals across the country are gearing themselves this Valentines week for a surge in sexual related injuries with the release of the movie.  ;-)

Risk of Identity Theft

   Many years ago the cyber world evolved; prior to that we were satisfied with bank books that we wrote our entries in, paying cash for most things and withdrawing cash from a real bank if we needed money.   When the first ATM came out several years ago we were elated with knowing that we could take money out any time of day or night.  It was quite an advancement  back then.

We have evolved over the last decade into a total cyber world of banking, shopping, and using search engines to find out just about anything and everything we want to know.  It has made life easier in many ways but always with advancement comes risk.  If we use all this cyber technology we are opening up a Pandora’s box for all to see.   Just as fast as technology has advanced so has its hackers.  Where there is good, there is always evil.  There are opportunists around every corner who seek profit and benefit from someone else’s  advancements. 

In our world there are some brilliant hackers who have found the right technology to enter into anyone’s financial and personal information.  No matter how many security walls that companies and individuals can put up, there is always the chance that someone can get into our valuable information and reek havoc.   Thousands and thousands of people are having their personal information compromised  every day.  The entanglement can be tremendous and the frustration tragic.

Have we grown our ability to electronically do too many everyday tasks?  It seems that with advancement  our society grew a new crop of deceitful criminals that are praying on the everyday people who are unsuspecting.  Maybe they were always out there but we didn't realize the breadth of their reach.

As much as we can, we must try and protect ourselves.  Put up as much security as you can on all your personal business, check your banks and credit cards regularly, and ask questions.  Many people are duped every day from calls they take that sound professional. 
 There people are polished and determined to take your money and identity and you must be somewhat paranoid about every unknown contact.

Protect yourselves  from the cyber-world and be very aware.

The Bank Loan

An Amish man wanted a loan for $500. He approached his local banker. The banker pulled out the loan application, asking, "What are you going to do with the money?"

"Take some jewelry to city and sell it," said the Amish man.

"What have you got for collateral?" queried the banker, going strictly by the book.
"Don't know what collateral means."

"Well that's something of value that would cover the cost of the loan. Have you got any vehicles?"
"Yes, I have a 1949 Chevy pickup."

The banker shook his head, "How about livestock?"
"Yes, I have a horse."

"How old is it?"
"I don't know; it has no teeth."

Finally the banker decided to make the $500 loan.

Several weeks later the Amish man was back in the bank. He pulled out a roll of bills, "Here's the money to pay loan," he said, handing the entire amount including interest.

"What are you going to do with the rest of that money?"
"Put it in my pocket."

"Why don't you deposit it in my bank?" he asked.
"I don't know what deposit means."

"Well, you put the money in our bank and we take care of it for you. When you want to use it you can withdraw it."

The Amish man leaned across the desk, looking suspiciously at the banker, and asked, "What you got for collateral?"

 RIGHT IS RIGHT

I’m constantly being reminded that everything I say is wrong. That’s terrible. I mean, even a clock that’s stopped is right twice a day. And that’s it. Right is right. So, I’m going to repent. Do penance and stuff. When you’re right, the problems of the world are easy to solve.

I’ll do it, as AA does, in ten easy steps.

Every human must convert to Christianity. Attend the church of his/her choice- for now- at least once a week. New Born's must be baptized within the first 24 hours. All women must be disenfranchised. (Some exceptions. Read on.) No higher education. Chattel is their status. Home is their workplace. Child bearing their duty.
Seniors and those disabled, physical or mental-that is they who are no longer capable of working for a living-will be housed and fed and gifted with Bingo parlors.
No public schools. All male children-except the get of the rich, famous, religious, political and military hierarchy (RFRPMH)- must do 24 months of boot camp after which they, who qualify for professional status, may continue their education. All others will line up for assignments in the work force or remain in uniform. Army. Navy, Marine Corp or Air Force.
No sex education. No birth control. (Exception RFRPMH)
Private ownership of land forbidden (Exception RFRPMH)
No private ownership of pets. (Exception RFRPMH)
All subversive books or written works-films and art as well- burned. Soon to be followed by authors or creators of same.
Sedition punishable by death.
Nags and chronic complainers sent to rehab or incarcerated..

The German Shepherd and the rest of the story

Two weeks ago on January 27, 2015 I had an eye Doctor appointment about 3 miles from home. I rode my bike as I usually do with my canine buddy'Obama' running a long side my bike.

I was about 2 blocks from my final destination when out of nowhere  I see through my peripheral  a German Shepherd running across the highway, it's nose and eyes positioned to feast on my best friend Obama Da DOG.

I rode as fast as these old legs of mine allowed and screamed a big 'WAYA' and said a prayer. The dog  somehow disappeared...?

This whole situation was lost in my brain until  yesterday while shopping at my favorite store Costco, when  a woman  named Rachel stops me, introduces herself and asks, what happened to the German Shepherd she hit with her car that went off whimpering with some sort of leg or hip injury when I was riding my bike?

I told her I had no idea she had hit the German Shepherd with her car. She  told me she felt bad and drove back looking for the dog but could not find it.

I told her she  most  likely saved my best friends life. I told her not to feel bad since dogs on Kaua'i  are legally to be contained in a yard or on a leash. I told her the owner of that dog was clearly breaking the law, she replied,  "maybe the dog jumped a fence?

I told her, either way, Wow, what a story, you are my Angel.

  The late Paul Harvey would had said, "Now you know  the rest  of the story..."
