Voting in Hawaii
People vote for their friends and relatives, the only people that vote for the issues are people that
That time of year is coming
where election
signs will litter our
roads and highways
don't have friends or relatives running for public office, and those people are few and far between here on the 'Cosmic Garden island.'

Ask yourself when voting for Mayor, would I hire this person to run my business and trust  this person with my personal checking account?  It's not a matter of who you
County council chair, Mel Rapozo
is a front runner in the Kaua'i
Mayoral race....
would rather have a beer with and talk story.  It's a matter of who can solve the islands problems. Who can actually  create affordable housing, help the homeless situation, alleviate traffic and create more roads and fix the existing roads?
Last but not least who has the chutzpah to demand public bus stop benches not be used as
El Aina has occupied the Bus stop
fronting the Kapaa neighborhood
center for the last 16 months.
The county passed new ordinances
in hopes she would

apartments and demand squatters leave to make space for bus patrons especially the disabled and our kupuna.

Study the resumes of the candidates,  it doesn't matter who has the better wave or better smile, who will make the better CEO of our cosmic Island and pull us out of our problems in a pono manner?

This method should be applied to all political candidates. I have also learned you don't need to tell people whom your voting for, voting is a personal matter.

If only I had heeded my father's

advice, he always told me to never discuss politics or religion outside the immediate family. That's why there is a privacy curtain in the voting booth.

I have decided to keep whom I am voting for a secret. I will not say the name of my candidates in this column. The last presidential election got me into a lot trouble
Director of Parks and recreation,
Lenny Rapozo is also running
for Mayor...
telling people who I was voting for. I will give you a hint whom my candidate for Mayor is. It's one of the Rapozo's and it 'ain't' Lenny.

Vote for the right people, the ones with passion, who will give it their all and get the job done.
Don't just vote because somebody is your sista's friends bruddah, unless of course that bruddah happens to be Patsy Rapozo's husband whom is currently the Kauai county chair.
Aren't you glad I didn't say whom I was voting for Mayor, the choice is yours? 'Dilly Dilly!'

P.S.
Don King to sponsor Trump and Biden prize fight (sic)

President Donald Trump is lashing out at Joe Biden for wanting to "beat the hell out of him," saying the former vice president "would go down fast and hard, crying all the way."
Don King the famous prize fight promoter should arrange a charity match between Biden and Trump, all Proceeds to go towards the winners political choice. Trump could use the winnings for his wall, Biden could use the winnings to launch his 2020 campaign for president or for his charity, the Biden foundation.
King said the fight would be the largest grossing sporting event in world history, even to surpass the Super bowl---estimated to gross over 100 billion in just Pay per view alone. The winner is guaranteed a record purse of 75 billion and the loser 20 billion, not million, but billions!  Biden responded, "Trump the baboon is no dummy and  has something here with this name calling thing, I like it, I like the attention, I like the money..!" $$$Oy!

Hawaii's 'Stormy' weather is Trump's liability

I feel sorry

Usually the sunrises are spectacular
on Kauai, this was the best of the
past few weeks
for the visitors to the island I call home, Kauai. This past winter has been miserable . The last few months has brought us windy, cloudy and rainy weather--especially the last 2 weeks of nearly no sunshine.  Imagine booking  a fantasy vacation to Kauai, saving for years  and never witnessing a sunrise or sunset, or laying out on the beach?

What can tourists do during the inclement weather?  I see them every Monday during my weekly sojourns to Costco whenever the weather is bad. They
Still cant beat Costco rotisserie chickens,
only $4.99 and they are the size
of small turkeys!  Broke da mout!
are the ones walking around with the empty shopping carts sampling all the free grindz multiple times.  Some will  go on a hike in the rainy weather and realize it wasn't a great idea and wind up calling search and rescue to help get them out of a  scary situation, costing us taxpayers thousands.  After that they can unwind at one of the  many food trucks which don't have any restrooms and therefore many visitors wind up catching a dreaded disease.

The truth behind all the rough weather and the reason for it according to MSNBC, is Donald Trump.(sic)   When the President was asked if this was true and if he was liable, he just yelled, "FAKE NEWS," and reiterated that he actually enjoys "Stormy" days and mentioned global warming was a hoax, to which his supporters all agreed!

The President is said to have been seen talking with the Lord himself concerning the weather. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused  himself  form any

questions concerning the weather. He  has appointed a special council consisting of NBC's meteorologists,  Al Roker and Williard Scott to see what is truly behind this inclement weather and to see  if the President was actually seen speaking to the Lord himself wishing bad weather upon Hawaii ---since  Hawaii's Attorney general Douglas Chin threatened Trump's immigration ban?

President Trump reassures every disappointed visitor to Hawaii  they can still go home with
a tan by using the same special spray on tan the President himself uses called, "Let's make the Hawaii weather great again," spray on tan.

Let's make life great again by having a sense of humor and not being so politically correct and serious  all the time! Did some one say 'Stormy' (Daniels) days ahead? Hoping the weather clears?

P.S.
An Atheist Professor tries to prove there is no God
An atheist professor was teaching a college class and he told the class that he was going to prove that there is no God. He said, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you 15 minutes!" Ten minutes went by. He kept taunting God, saying,"Here I am, God. I'm still waiting." He got down to the last couple of minutes and a Marine just released from active duty and newly registered in the class walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him flying from his platform. The professor struggled up, obviously shaken and yelled, "What's the matter with you? Why did you do that?"
The Marine replied, "God was busy; He sent me."

Trump and Kim just might win a joint noble peace prize... 'James "Kimo" Rosen (Kimo's world # 231)

Trump and Kim just might win a joint  noble peace prize

Trump's presidency always seems to bring another nebulous week and another hysteria.  Remember when 45 threatened North Korea promising 'fire and fury'
of the likes that the world had never seen before, remember the white supremacy rally in North Carolina with 3 deaths. The media is always finding something to criticize the president from porn star Stormy Daniels to Russian collusion.

This past week it was announced he would meet with North Korean president Kim Jong-un , the first president to ever do so, to talk about a nuclear free zone! This after the exchange of many personal barbs against each other in the past year. This will be Trump's time to shine and show he can lead if ever there was a time. This could lead
to a Nobel prize if Trump could  broker and create a nuclear free zone. Imagine all the hard line talk of fire and fury and little Rocket man actually paying off?

Trump knows business, he knows people, He is similar to Kim, these two men may both become joint Nobel peace prize winners, something the liberals
and the media would never had deemed possible.
I am hoping for the best. The haters will finally see in President Trump what many of us have  seen all along-- a highly misunderstood stable genius, that many gave little or no credit, but is truly making America great again.

I try to explain President Trump in this manner to people who don't get it. Here's a simple way to understand 45.  He's like a doctor with a bad bedside manner.  There are doctors that are great people, they smile, let you call them in the off hours,
will cry with you, laugh with you, hold your hand and just seem like the best, yet they still misdiagnose patients and patients die unnecessarily.  Then there are doctors with the not so great bedside manners, that don't really seem that concerned with their patients, and may not hold your hand and smile as much as you want them too, however when it comes down to saving  lives and helping to heal, they  succeed.  I liken that to  President Trump. Trump may not have the best bedside manner however he is truly helping to do what he said he would do, keeping his election promises and  making America great again!

I'm am seriously  thinking a joint  Nobel peace prize for President Trump and Kim Jong -un  if this deal goes through. Did someone say 4 more years!World peace, economy on the rise, immigration reform, lowest unemployment rate in history, tackled multiple natural disasters, places America FIRST in everything he does, and in the face of the worst bunch of crying democrats I have ever seen! I don't care if he is yellow, orange blue or red. I only pray the main stream media  eventually gives this man the credit he so rightly deserves.

"Me too combats social hugging in Hawaii..." 'James "Kimo" Rosen' (Kimo's world #230)

Me too combats  social hugging in Hawaii
Me too, me three, oy vey

The 'Me too' movement could bring no more hugging here in Hawaii as politicians, business people and the common layperson ponder what to do in social situations.  The hug and peck on the cheek especially amongst members of the opposite sex has
long been accepted in the 50th state and is  part of the culture here in Hawaii.  However as a germaphobe, like the western handshake I can do without either.  I prefer the Japanese form of bowing which I learned during my tenure of teaching English as a second language in Japan.

Hawaii 's former state house speaker Joe Souki is accused of sexual harassment. Souki's lawyer says the allegations stem from something that happened
three years ago and is a misunderstanding.  Rachel Wong the accuser and former State department of human services director is saying there was inappropriate touching in public?  Souki who is 84 cant even remember?  Kissing and hugging are as common as the handshake in Hawaii.  A little peck on the cheek or a hug  may have been misinterpreted? Souki allegedly gave her a kiss when she held out her hand for a handshake. Souki then made a comment about being perky according to Wong.

Because of the 'Me too' movement many are afraid to be themselves in fear of some crazy
person coming out and making allegations.  Don't get me wrong there are some parties that do get sexually harassed but this whole movement has created another movement of 'fear.'   Social situations will never be what they were. Everybody will be on guard. One commenter said on a KHON comments  post , "Hope she (Rachel Wong) never comes to one of my family's gatherings. We wouldn't want to "trigger" her." Another commenter said on Facebook, "Our family hugs and kisses everyone, it's a way of life here on the islands."

The Hawaiian lei greeting and a kiss on the cheek is a famous greeting that tourists look
forward to when visiting Hawaii, along with the old expression, “ I got leid in Hawaii," will  all this someday be taboo also because of 'Me too?'

The late legendary world war 2 hero and Hawaii Senator Dan Inouye would have a hard time in this day surviving the 'Me too' movement  because  back in  1992 InouyeÊ»s hairdresser, Lenore Kwock, alleged that the senator forced her to have sex with him and that he groped her in a hair salon.
Inouye denied the allegations, as well as unsubstantiated claims that he had abused nine other women.   How would this be handled in this day and age with many men being accused almost on a daily basis of sexual abuse that has created the "Me too movement?

Honolulu international airport  changed it's name to Daniel K. Inouye International airport, last year.  This cost the taxpayers  75 million dollars for
the signage and other renovations.
Many now want the name changed back to 'Honolulu international airport,' plus it's a much easier name to pronounce and remember, count me in on that, 'Me three!"

It's a different world today. Ten years ago  an older woman broke into my home and
demanded sexual favors from me. When I reported this to the police,  they laughed at me because I was a guy? There is such a double standard in the world today. Nobody believes claims of sexual harassment filed  by men.
For better or worse, I  am so  happy to not be a young person in today's politically correct society. I say Me too, to Oy vey!
