Kauai County Council and new Mayor should consider “congestion pricing”

Kauai county should consider congestion pricing as a way to battle the traffic situation here on the cosmic Garden island.

Congestion pricing is a fee charged to drivers for the privilege to drive during heavy traffic to help alleviate the situation.  Since 2003 drivers in London have paid a daily rate of about $16 to access the heart of the city from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m on weekdays.  Many US cities with traffic gridlock are thinking of implementing this process including Honolulu.

Before this could be implemented the county bus would need to be ready for an influx of many more passengers. This would be great tax revenue for the county and get motor vehicles off the roads.
Bumper to bumper traffic by the roundabout
in Kapa'a, known at the Kapa'a crawl.
Also, every car rental could be accessed the $16.00 fee or whatever fee determined by our representatives.  In the long run, it would get cars off the roads, people using mass transit and more tax dollars for the many problems facing our community  I believe it's something our county council and new mayor should look into.

Support Border Wall to keep America safe
Acosta will never live it down...It’s the gift that keeps on giving

It's beyond belief that the U.S. government is partially
shut down because Congressional Democrats will not allocate 5 billion dollars to construct a barrier wall on the southern border. This comes as a shock to Israelis who are protected from daily terror acts behind a barrier. The opposition to the wall is not about anything else but obstructing Trump and keeping him from keeping American safe.

How can anyone dispute a border wall? It’s like disputing locking the doors to your home, fencing your yard or property, or locking your vehicle while shopping.

The irony, so many politicians and Hollywood elite types with fenced yards and security guards in front of their mansions are the ones most opposed to a wall.

Hawaii can spend 8 billion on a rail that is 25 miles long but the whole United States cant spend 5 billion on border security.

America first!

So far 110,000 signatures and counting!
Do to Rashida Tlaib actions and profanity,
she is unfit to be a congresswoman.
Her rude display and lack of respect for our sitting President
was uncalled for. Her immediate removal from her seat
is just and warranted. Due to her hatred towards our president,
I feel she is a national security threat.

Aloha Everyone,

Dakinetalk blog will only appear periodically in 2019, taking the time to write a book
      Blog #2026~Kimo's world's #273

2019 brings on my 10th year of blogging,  to date-2,026 blogs and 273 Kimo world’s and counting.

2019 has me working on a book about America and it’s a current crisis.  Many of my blogs have expressed this concern.  Some of the blogs will be included in the book. America is in crisis, friends and relatives have stopped speaking to each other, and commenting on your views on social media can get you fired from a job or even accused of a crime. Many believe America is experiencing it's second Civil war.

I have self-published before and enjoyed the experience, however, self-publishing is usually nothing more than an ego boost-- that’s why many  refer to it as“vanity publishing."

I will be spending time looking for a real-life publisher for what I believe will be a great read for all, DemonRats, RepublicCons, Independents and you.

I may not publish a blog every week. Dakinetalkblog in 2019 will appear periodically when I finish a chapter I may post for readers to get a sneak peek into my book.

Want to know the title? It's such a great title I am keeping it secret since the title alone hopefully should sell a million books! (I hope!)

Don't know when I will be blogging again, could be next week or in 2 months, for now, A Hui Hou! (Until we meet again!)

I am glad I am in my 60's and not a young person in this new politically correct society of 'Me Too' and Tweets where everything you say is scrutinized under a microscope even years after you say it.  In the UK they are teaching the keiki (children) that boys have periods. When is enough, enough?

May you have a great 2019-
Happy new year!

Political Correctness and how it's all gone wrong---
Boys now have periods, Babies are Theybies
and 11 year old Drag Queens are normalized
      Blog #2025~Kimo's world's #272

I could not believe my eyes when a friend posted on Facebook that  schools in the UK
are now teaching that all kids have periods, including little boys. I had to fact check this and fact check again and again to make sure my friend wasn't mistaken or joking.
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2018/12/16/schools-eight-year-olds-boys-periods/

Political correctness has gone mad, insane, nutso.(sic) First they freak out and ban the playing of the classic song, "It's cold outside." Then they want Santa to be a woman, St. Nicolai in lieu of St. Nick.

It get's worse, earlier this year some hipsters and far leftists on a Facebook community decided it's only proper for your baby to decide it's own gender. For the first 4 years of a baby's life they all decided a baby should be gender neutral and  at the end of those years let the kid decide if they want to be male or female. Let the child play with both dolls and trucks. Let little Johnny decide if he wants to play with Barbie or play cops and robbers. You probably can't play cops and robbers any more and if you do, I'm sure no gun is allowed because of 'political correctness?'  No longer will parents
have babies instead 'theybies.'  Your newborn child  will now be known as a 'Theyby' in lieu of 'Baby' if the liberal agenda proceeds.

'GMA DAY' Co-hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines devoted a whole segment to normalizing and  interviewing an 11 year old drag queen named Desmond Napoles.

This is the same TV show and company that last year fired their anchor, Matt Lauer over pressure from from the 'Me Too' movement for alleged sexual misconduct dating back many years on a "he said, she said basis." Crazy world we now live in.

Check out the whole interview on Good morning America below; Read some of the comments including;
 "Yet his mom draws the line on caffeine." "Modern day liberalism comes straight from the pits of Hell." Read more;

All I can say, It's not only cold outside, but in my heart. I long for the days were men were men, woman were woman, little boys did not have periods or were they encouraged to be drag queens.

Where a man or woman could compliment the opposite sex on how nice they
looked without fear of being thrown in jail for sexual harassment and where school kids started each school day reciting the 'Pledge of allegiance,' the version with "one nation under God," and where you could go to a sporting event without role model players kneeling during our national anthem.  I live
in Hawaii, and it's  darn  frickin cold outside.

Liberal Mom Aghast as Huge Guy
in Lakers Jersey Walks into Ladies’ Room
A self-described “very progressive” mom got a rude awakening that changed her views about the “bathroom debate” and decided to share her story regardless of what the backlash would be.

Kristen Quintrall Lavin runs a blog called, “The Get Real Mom,” in which she exposes the harsh realities of what she calls, “momming.”
However, on a 2017 trip to Disneyland with her young son, Lavin, she was exposed to another harsh reality — the reality of bathroom stalking, which made her question her views on the bathroom debate.

Lavin wrote on her blog that she has seen and supported transgender women — men who identify as women — using women’s public restrooms prior to the incident at Disneyland. “Transgenders who certainly felt comfortable in the women’s room and probably frightened to go into the men’s. At these times, I smiled … I peed … and life went on,” she wrote.

Then, all of that changed when she was at Disneyland
with her friend, her son and her friend’s son.

Is suicide on the rise, or  just a more transparent society?

      Blog #2024~Kimo's world's #271

The Garden Island news recently editorialized on how the suicide rate is the highest it’s ever been. They went on to say; "The suicide death rate last year was the highest it’s been in at least 50 years, according to U.S. government records.
The world needs more of this!
"This is an area of huge concern on Kauai, where young people can be overwhelmed with hopelessness." May I add not only of crave concern to the young  but  our middle aged and kupuna population as well.

The opioid epidemic has also been devastating.  Pregnancy-associated mortality has more than doubled in the past decade. Even the rate of death from heart disease, which had been falling, has leveled off. And according to a CNN study guns kill nearly 1,300 US children each year. Gun deaths have added dramatically to the suicide statistic along with accidental overdoes form the opioid crisis.

National suicide prevention lifeline
(800-273-TALK)

Suicide is hard on the loved ones of the deceased.  Often going through depressions and issues of their own.
Suicide can be prevented and hopefully those with tendencies will seek help.
I believe suicide numbers are not necessarily as high as most  studies suggest.  The stats and numbers tell you so, yes.  That’s because we now live in a transparent "tell all"society.

When I was a child I had a close relative commit suicide.  I never found out until I was an adult.  I was told at the time along with  other relatives and the general public he had died of a heart attack, the obituary in the newspaper said the same.  Plus being Jewish, you cannot be buried in a Jewish cemetery if you commit suicide and also many life insurance policies are null and void for suicide.
'Ask Moses,' Can a suicide victim be buried in a Jewish cemetery? (for the record)
 http://www.askmoses.com/en/article/165,1311/Can-a-suicide-victim-be-buried-in-a-Jewish-cemetery.html
How many suicides go unreported and are disguised in the ending as heart attacks, strokes, natural causes  or something else on the death certificates? These days, most likely not very many, but back when I was a lad, suicide was frowned upon and families were shamed, suicide was disguised whenever possible.
Yes, suicide is a tragic, but is it really on the rise or has it always been rampant or do we now just live in a more transparent  society?
This time of year can be especially hard on those combating depression and thoughts of suicide.
For anyone even thinking suicide there is a national suicide prevention lifeline with help 24-7. The toll free number is

Give up your Smartphone for one year and win 100-K

Let’s be honest: there’s a good chance that you’re reading this article on a smartphone right now. There’s also a good chance
that you’ve been somewhat tethered to your smartphone fr
om the moment you woke up this morning. In today’s digital age, and thanks to social networking apps like Facebook, there’s no denying that our reliance upon and addiction to smartphones has grown by leaps and bounds over the last decade.

With that said, do you think you could go a full day without using your smartphone? How about a week or, say, a month? How about a full year? While most people would likely scoff at the idea of trading in their smartphone for a flip phone for a full year, what if someone was willing to make it worth your while? What if someone was willing to pay you $100,000 to give up your smartphone for 365 days? Well, now we’ve got ourselves a hypothetical worth exploring.
The only thing is, this isn’t a hypothetical. Vitamin-Water this week announced a new contest where a lucky contestant (or unlucky depending on your perspective) can win 100 grand for returning to a mid-2000's era feature phone.
