"Are you ready for some football without the stress of politics..." 'James "Kimo" Rosen' (Kimo's world #203)

Publishers note
August 21, 2017 was the 1st total solar eclipse visible from the contiguous U.S. since 1979. We had a 30% visible eclipse in Hawaii during the totality.
During totality eclipse watchers viewed the corona safely without special glasses. I had the rare opportunity of photographing the Corona during totality!

Are you ready for some football without the stress of politics

My favorite time of year is around the corner. I love the fall, the days are shorter, the weather in Hawaii becomes a little cooler and the sunrises and sunsets become more colorful as we approach winter. The encore or as we say in Hawaii, the Hana Hou is that it's football season!

"Are you ready for some football?"  A jingle everybody knows from Monday night football's theme song. A catchy jingle that goes on in an endless loop in my head this time of year as September is right around the corner and opening day is nearing for the NFL football season.

I am an NFL football junkie and if my favorite team the Buffalo Bill are not playing, I still watch the top teams compete. I enjoy a good  professional football game more than a Hollywood movie.

The big news this year is no NFL owner wants to take the chance on placing former San Francisco quarterback Kolin Kaepernick

Kolin Kaepernick's recent  protests of taking a knee during the country's national anthem before the football games  last season while playing for  the San Francisco  49'ERS has led to him being black balled from working in the NFL according to many sources.

The introduction of politics into our national sport by Kaepernick, unless countered (objected to )by a majority of members, will kill the sport.
It will also happen in Hollywood and the entertainment business, and more importantly, the media.
The NFL is a business, not a platform for the players to exercise free speech. If I started this type of protest in my work place my employer would say, "best of luck we support your goals, but not while you are working on our dime."

The management of teams that put up with this is a joke. Protest all you want in the off season or when your off camera but not when you are on the payroll making millions for a team owner that is being threatened by fans that they will not attend games if this continues.  Imagine if any of you protested your passions while at work?

Fans do not want politics interwoven with their football. Football is an escape for many to get away from the stresses of daily life including and not limited to politics. Once you include politics in football it ruins  the aura from the get go. Owners and coaches realize this and do not want locker room and media distractions taking away from team efforts.
Check out this article; NFL Executive Drops Brutal Dose of Truth on Colin Kaepernick
http://joeforamerica.com/2017/08/nfl-executive-drops-brutal-dose-truth-colin-kaepernick/
All of the  protests started on the night of August 26, 2016  when Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem before the 49ers pre-season game against the  Packers. It might have been missed altogether had a reporter from the NFL Network not noticed and asked him about it after the game.
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,”
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/sep/09/colin-kaepernick-national-anthem-protest-nfl-race-issues
Kolin Kaepernick  was adopted by white parents, Teresa and Rick Kaepernick.
His biological father was African-American. His biological mother, Heidi (Zabransky) Russo, is white. The surname “Kaepernick” is German. Kolin grew up in white suburbia and never lived a day of being oppressed.

Ironically Kaepernick's
national anthem protests are riding over into anti Trump protests and this whole tearing down of statues.
Like I said. Are you ready for some Football without the stress of politics?   I know I am. ;-)

P.S.
Read what Hall of fame football legend Jim Brown has to say about Kolin Kaepernick
Colin Kaepernick needs to choose between being activist or football player
Jim Brown was both an activist and a great football player. But he doesn’t think Colin Kaepernick can be.
Brown told The PostGame.com that he thinks Kaepernick has to make a choice between the two, and Brown seems to think Kaepernick has not chosen wisely.
“Colin has to make up his mind, whether he’s truly an activist, or whether he’s a football player,” Brown said. “If you try to be both in a situation, football is commercial, you have owners, you have fans, and you want to honor that if you’re making that kind of money. If you have a cause, I think you should organize it, present it in a manner where it’s not only you standing on one knee, but a lot of people that are going to get behind each other and do something about it. I ask you one question: Who is Colin calling on to follow what he’s talking about? So many of us have always done it, and we’re here to help anyone that wants to do it, but I would advise the young man, if you’re a football player, play football. If you’re going to be a real activist, use your money, use your notoriety.”

The perfect place to be during a nuclear holocaust

I do not wish a nuclear attack however since I live in Hawaii and there is talk of North Korea being capable of reaching the two most western states, Hawaii and Alaska. Hawaii's civil  defense is in order.

Kauaians continue life as normal despite North Korea threat
http://thegardenisland.com/news/local/kauaians-continue-life-as-normal-despite-north-korea-threat/article_7c0e327d-0f85-51b3-8107-704cf5a093d3.html?_dc=718782191967.3845

The simplest of the warnings is: "Don’t run. Get inside." Sheltering in place, beneath as many layers of protection as possible, is the best way to avoid the radiation that would follow a nuclear detonation.“The goal is to put as many walls and as much concrete, brick and soil between you and the radioactive material outside.”
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/don-t-run-get-inside-public-need-know-how-respond-n750466
I have thought of where I would like to be in the God awful time something like this might happen? They say cement buildings with no  windows are best suited and to have at least a 2 week supply of dry and canned food, emergency generators would be nice too.

A thought hit me as I was doing my weekly shopping sojourn at Costco, there is not a place I would rather be stuck and shut off from the outside  world than a Costco warehouse-outlet.
Cement floors, cement walls,
cement ceilings,
 ton's of food, a pharmacy,

pillows, and more than
2 weeks of everything one

 would need
during a nuclear attack

 at Costco.
I am not advocating for a

 Nuclear attack,
however in the event

 there is one,
I would not mind getting stuck

 at Costco with my
best friend Ivanka Obama only

because there are
no fall out shelters on Kauai.

Think about it, they have emergency generators, cement walls and ceilings and millions of dollars worth of food inventory, entertainment, toiletries, a pharmacy, pillows,  and more than
2 weeks of everything one would need during a nuclear attack at Costco.

I am not advocating for a Nuclear attack,
however in the event there is one,
I would not mind getting stuck inside a Costco warehouse outlet  since there are no fall out shelters on Kauai.

So, if 'D' day ever comes, not that I hope it happens anytime soon, but if if does happen, I am hoping  on a Monday between 11AM and 1:00 PM. Those are my shopping hours every week at my favorite store, Costco wholesale in Lihue.

At least if I'm going to croak, I can die in class stuck inside   Costco Lihue with my best friend Ivanka Obama, maybe the most perfect place to be should G-d forbid we ever need shelter.

My Israeli friend wrote,The world is watching

My friend from Israel wrote me in an email;
"As an Israeli citizen who sees the tensions with North Korea from the sidelines, you have to understand something simple. Be united! Your quarrels between the liberals and the Republicans weaken the US."

"When the media criticizes Donald Trump, it causes your enemies to raise their heads. For example, China is daring to threaten you only because of this, the first rule in the war is to be united, you must not quarrel with each other, and you must not call out  Trump in the event of war, it reduces your power as the only superpower in the world."
We love you from Israel.

Trump cannot win.  When he tries to talk and be diplomatic with another country like Russia, he is accused of collusion and trying to serve his own self interest.  When he comes out strong and tries to spell out in clear terms that any attack on the United States will be met with force, he is accused of bringing this country closer to war.  Trump can do no right in the media's and the those on the left's eyes.

Politics is much different than business, in business like in the game of poker
you can bluff your competition with false hands that make you a winner. The same moves in politics can destroy the world or also make you a winner? Is it worth the gamble?

The world is watching the Untied States, we are the super power. They are not only watching our President and dissecting every word and movement he makes under a microscope, but also watching us, the American people quarrel and hate on one another. Those blaming their fellow Americans and arguing with their neighbors must stop and take a  look in the mirror before any of this is resolved.

Michael Jackson said it all with his hit song,
"Man in the mirror."  (Check out the Music video below)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PivWY9wn5ps
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer

If you want to make the world a better place…
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

Na na na, na na na, na na, na nah---

The Kim Vs. The Donald, live from Aloha stadium

A former Peace corp volunteer, Hawaii state representative Gene Ward  representing Hawaii Kai on Oahu recently sent a letter to President Trump asking for personal negotiations with North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un, and  issued a challenge for the Commander-in-Chief to become the Diplomat-in-Chief.

Mr. Ward wants the two countries to trade words of peace not weapons.

"In international relations the old adage is: When the diplomats stop talking, the bullets start flying."

Ward is a Trump supporter and attended the President's Inauguration, but also issued
a challenge to the Commander-in-Chief, "President Trump loves the art of the deal, and says he can negotiate better than Congress.

In a letter to the White House, Ward even asked the President to hold those talks in Hawaii.

"They gotta meet someplace, why not Hawaii?"

I love the idea by state representative Ward. Why not turn lemons into lemonade and make the financial stripped Hawaii state  rail project benefit from this by selling tickets to this event by holding it at Aloha stadium. Sells tickets
for  $100.00 per head to see "The Donald"  Vs. "The Kim" and have it mediated by Dennis Rodman and all the cable and Internet networks worldwide could sell 'Pay  per view' tickets too! The state could hopefully solve it's financial plight of rail through all the profits and have some left over for a rainy day fund!

To those worried about the expense of security for such an international event, the money's generated through the promotions and tourism will so far out weigh the overtime of the extra needed security.

I'm not for one travel, so I'm opting for 'Pay for view,' how about you? In case you haven't guessed, my money's on "The Donald!"

P.S.
